Ce colloque a été coorganisé par les composantes toulousaine et montpelliéraine du CREG, sous la responsabilité d’Andrea Chartier-Bunzel et Mechthild Coustillac, en coopération avec le professeur Yves Bizeul, titulaire de la chaire de « Théorie et d’Histoire des idées politiques » à l’Institut für Politik- und Verwaltungswissenschaften de l’Université de Rostock. Pour la publication, le tour d’horizon de la thématique choisie a été enrichi de quelques contributions supplémentaires éclairant des aspects essentiels. Schopenhauer, Nietzsche et Wagner, mais également les nouvelles approches ethnologiques, anthropologiques ou historico-culturelles des sociétés humaines et la théorisation de l’inconscient par Sigmund Freud, ouvrirent des espaces à l’exploration de l’irrationnel et du mythique que le national-socialisme sut ensuite occuper au nom de sa vision antihumaniste et raciste du monde et de sa conception totalitaire de la politique et de l’État. L’appropriation et la radicalisation idéologique, par le régime hitlérien, de mythes nationaux existants et, plus largement, la confiscation de tout un héritage mythique, mais aussi la création de nouveaux mythes aussitôt transformés en dogmes appelèrent des réponses de la part des intellectuels allemands ou autrichiens qui avaient choisi l’émigration ou furent contraints à l’exil. Ce volume se propose de déceler et d’analyser l’évocation de l’héritage mythique dans les productions des écrivains et intellectuels qui, au cours des années 1930 et 1940, restèrent, souvent pendant de longues années, coupés du cadre de référence géographique et culturel de leur pays d’origine. Le corpus étudié ne se limite pas aux douze années de règne national-socialiste, certains auteurs ayant entamé bien avant 1933 une réflexion sur le mythe

    ART & DESIGN A Fiery Splash in the Rockaways and Twists on Film at the Whitney By ROBIN POGREBIN MAY 26, 2016 Japan Society Show When the Turner Prize-winning artist Simon Starling was preparing the piece he would exhibit at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art five years ago, he learned about masked Japanese Noh theater, which inspired W. B. Yeats’s 1916 play, “At the Hawk’s Well.” Now Mr. Starling is building on that project with “At Twilight,” his first institutional show in New York and a rare solo exhibition at Japan Society that features a non-Japanese artist. It is also the first exhibition by Yukie Kamiya, Japan Society’s new gallery director, who used to be chief curator at the Hiroshima museum. The show is organized with the Common Guild of Glasgow, which will present Mr. Starling’s version of the Yeats play in July. KONVERSATION – LITERATUR – BRIEFWECHSEL | 17 „Will we meet in Prague before New Years eve?“ Das „Prager Erbe“ in Franz Carl Weiskopfs Exil-Jahren Jan König 1 Das „Prager Erbe“ Die Wirkung Prags als Genius loci lässt sich bei vielen Prager deutschen Schriftstellern feststel- len, man denke an Mütterchens Krallen bei Kafka. Mit der Bildung der Nationalstaaten und den damit einhergehenden gesellschaftlichen und politischen Veränderungen im ehemaligen Kron- land Böhmen entwickelte sich bei den um 1900 in Prag geborenen Schriftstellern noch ein an- derer Bezugspunkt: sie sahen sich als Teil internationaler Literatur- und Gesellschaftsbewe- gungen. Diese Schriftstellergeneration lässt das Nationale hinter sich, wenn man sich an das „hinternationale“ eines Johannes Urzidils erinnert. Auch Franz Carl Weiskopf und Egon Erwin Kisch bewegten sich beide zwischen diesen Polen von regionaler Zugehörigkeit und universa- lem Kosmopolitismus. In seinen Reportagen berichtet Egon Erwin Kisch rund um den Erdball und erlangte dadurch seine Bekanntheit. Kisch wie Weiskopf bereisten die Sowjetunion, um als fellow travelers über die neu entstandenen Gesellschaft zu berichten.1 Mit der Staatsgründung der Ersten Tschechoslowakischen Republik, verschlug es beide nach Berlin, wo Weiskopf über ebendiese Staatsgründung sein Debüt gab. It features 300 art works that were created between 1945 and 1989 by 120 artists from West Germany (FRG, Federal Republic of Germany) and East Germany (GDR, German Democratic Republic). The subtitle „Cold War Cultures“ stresses the fact that there were ideological implications in the art production on both sides of the Iron Curtain. LACMA's Senior Curator Stephanie Barron initiated this exhibition and found in her German colleague and co-curator Eckhart Gillen, from Kulturprojekte (Berlin), a most knowledgeable partner. Both curators have worked in the area of German art before, but whereas Barron has concentrated on topics situated historically earlier, such as German Expres- sionism, the „degenerate art“ show by the Nazis, and the art and culture of the exiles and émigrés in California, Gillen is a specialist in postwar German art with a particular expertise in art from the GDR.[1] For the extensive catalogue, which also offers historical background information, Barron collaborated with Sabine Eckmann (Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, St. Louis) who co-edited the book.[2] The exhibition display is organized in chapters following a chronological order and starts with the destruction of Germany at the end of the Second World War.

Der Regisseur Marco Wilms, damals selbst Model beim Modeinstitut der DDR, zieht los, um dieses einzigartige Lebensgefühl von ökonomischer Unbeschwertheit und radikalem Anderssein Wollen im Hier und Jetzt wieder entstehen zu lassen. A master of texture, Richter has experimented with different techniques of paint application throughout his career. His hallmark is the illusion of motion blur in his paintings, which are referenced from photographs he himself has taken, obscuring his subjects with gentle brushstrokes or the scrape of a squeegee, softening the edges of his figures to appear as though they had been captured by an unfocused lens.     Pressemitteilung Dezember 2019 Die Photographin Helga Paris erhält den Kulturpreis 2019 der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie. Die Preisvergabe findet am 12. Januar 2020 um 19.00 Uhr in der Akademie der Künste, Berlin, statt. Damit verbunden ist die Finissage der Ausstellung „Helga Paris, Fotografin“ an gleichem Ort. Die in Berlin ansässige Photographin und Künstlerin Helga Paris, 1938 in Gollnow/Pommern geboren, wird mit dem Kulturpreis der DGPh geehrt. Die Gesellschaft zeichnet damit eine der bedeutendsten deutschen Künstlerinnen aus, die sowohl die klare dokumentarische Bildsprache der Photographie auf höchstem Niveau beherrscht, als auch die experimentelle, dem Filmischen zugewandte Qualität des Mediums in tiefsinnig ausdrucksstarken Serien umgesetzt hat. Helga Paris hat sich als Chronistin ihrer Zeit hoch verdient gemacht. Vor allem die von ihr vermittelte ostdeutsche Realität gewinnt durch ihre Werke Plastizität und eine überzeugende Anschaulichkeit. Der Beginn ihrer photographischen Arbeit liegt für Helga Paris in den 1960er-Jahren. Ab 1945 aufgewachsen in Zossen (Brandenburg), geht sie 1956 zum Studium der Modegestaltung nach Berlin. Über den Maler Ronald Paris, mit dem sie zwischen 1961 und 1974 verheiratet ist und mit dem sie die Kinder Robert und Jenny bekommt, gewinnt Helga Paris einen erweiterten Einblick in kunstgeschichtliche Zusammenhänge. Es ist der befreundete Dokumentarfilmemacher Peter Voigt, der sie um 1967 ermuntert, ihre photographische Tätigkeit weiter voranzutreiben. Bewegende Motive findet sie in ihrer
