  • 2003/04 Was Undoubtedly the Most Successful Season in the Club’S History
To all players, family members and friends, Season 2003/04 was undoubtedly the most successful season in the Club’s history. Starting from Grass-roots, our juniors excelled, with the Under 16’s taking out BPCC maiden Junior Premiership title. Our Under 10’s, were easily the benchmark side in the competition, though under the new rules, there’s no competition ladder as such. The Under 11’s missed out on the finals, with Mother Nature not helping out through the season. The Under 12’s missed the finals by a whisker, while the Under 13’s did make the semi finals, but unfortunately didn’t progress to the final. With the seniors, all but 3rd Grade made the finals, with 2nd and 5th Grade making the step to the Final. 5th Grade was unlucky on the day, while 2nd Grade won the Premiership in great style against North Richmond. With BPCC winning in our senior teams in both the Junior and Senior competitions shows we are a true force in the district and shows we have a great future. Like years gone and what we have planned for next season, BPCC had a great social presence within the Club. Firstly with the Trivia Nights, hosted for the first time by Danny, Duane and John, who did a great job, made it an extremely fun night for all that attended and helped raise the funds required for the Club. The Super-8’s was also another success story. We have a huge attendance with a lot of fun, plenty of wickets and plenty of runs scored.

Belhus Cricket Club 50th Anniversary Part D Belhus CC 1960 - 2010 ………………………. Foreword “I am very honoured to be asked to provide a short foreword to this 50th anniversary commemorative booklet. The recreational game in the county is the lifeblood of the game, and from a county perspective it provides us with the platform to produce our next generation of Essex and England cricketers. There is no doubt that much of our development work would be impossible without our close links with those working at the grass roots level. Running a club in these challenging times is no mean feat, and to have reached an admirable „half century‟ is a testimony to the commitment and dedication of Belhus Cricket Club members and committees. You should all be congratulated on this achievement and I wish you the very best of luck for the future”. David East Chief Executive, Essex County Cricket Club …………………………………. …………………………………… 2 The Record Winning Run-Chase Not surprisingly, Southend-on-Sea chose to bat first in the First XI‟s match at North Stifford on 20th June 2009. And their decision proved justified as they raced to 130 without loss. Philip McIntosh made a fine century, but Billy Winter‟s spell of 5 overs for 11 runs restricted the Southend total to 275 for 2 declared from 52 overs. There was no real debate among the Belhus team at the tea interval. Our players, and visitors too, are well aware of the quality and consistency of our pitch on which big totals can easily be chased down. So we set about our task in an unflustered way, with all of our batsmen making respectable contributions.

Winter is upon us and so to the end of another successful 2008/09 season. This season has given us even more reason to celebrate by taking out the Club Championship this season. This is the second time the club has achieved this in its 12 years of history. This is a great credit to the club and all of its members. And once again being one of the largest clubs in the Hawkesbury district. This season the club again fielded 6 junior teams, one in each age division. The 11’s, 13’s and 14’s all made it through to the semi finals, with the 11’s progressing through to the final. Our under 10’s is a non competition age group, although they don’t play finals they too would have no doubt featured in a finals series and hopefully with some proposed changes to this age group next season, they will get their chance to win a title.
