Since joining Owens Community College in late 2011, Athletic Director Rudy Yovich has made a point not just to maintain the Owens Express tradition of athletic excellence, but to build on it.

This pursuit of excellence led Yovich and his staff to design and develop a new Express athletics website - www. owensexpress.com. The website features game scores, video highlights, up-to-date season statistics, an athletic apparel store, links to Owens Express social media sites and more. 6 • WINTER 2013 Owens Community College has announced plans to build a new culinary center in Heritage Hall on the Toledo- area Campus. The new space will allow Owens to expand the current Food, Nutrition and Hospitality Management program offerings.

“Right now, classes run in the lab Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. We can’t accommodate any additional classes or students in the space we have,” said Joann Gruner, Chair of the Food, Nutrition and Hospitality Management program. “We also can’t run baking classes during the summer months because of humidity.”
