If thhe requesting organization is not located within Charleston County the Fire Chief has the authority to grant an exclusive use request for that requesting organization. The requesting organization must show proof of a minimum, one million dollar insurance policy and must name The Town of Mount Pleasant as an additional insurer. All members of requesting organization will observe all guidelines concerning use of the Training Center and that any violations will terminatte this request. All members have completed the necessary prerequisite training for participation in training activity requested and will be signing the hold harmless agreement provided the day of training. The requesting organization will be responsible for the use and care of the facility and that the organization will repair, or cause to be repaired, any damage to facility, grounds or equipment that occurs during their use. That MPFD will have, at minimum, one representative on site as Training Center Operator (TCO) to aid in facilitating the use. That individual has the authority of the AHJ to stop or deter any activity not requested or that violates any rules or is deemed unsafe. Other representatives may be required based on the type of training requested. Restrictions have been imposed by Building of Zoning Appeals (BOZA). They are as follows: “Lighting for night training shall be limited to fire truck lighting. Hours of operations shall be limited to 0800 hours to 2100 hours Monday – Friday. During the year the training facility may be used on weekends as follows: No more than sixteen (16) Saturdays during normal hours of operation No more than four (4) Sundays with training not being conducted prior to 1400 hours. Night training will be limited to 3 times per month for 3 hours, no later than 2100 hours. No fires shall be burned at night due to the potential for limited visibility along local roadways due to smoke. The only combustible materials stored on site shall be a propane system and hay in the props using fire or smoke.
