The Uconn Club Annual Auction Catalog Categories ANNUAL AUCTION Initial listing – preliminary only Saturday, March 1st, 2014 9:30 a.m. – 11:45 p.m. XL Center Main Exhibition Hall Hartford, Connecticut The UConn Club Annual Silent Auction March 1, 2014, 9:30 a.m. ‐ 11:45 a.m. XL Center Exhibition Hall 2014 Highlighted Items Have dinner with a coach – bid enough and dine at an upscale restaurant with Geno Auriemma, Bob Diaco, Kevin Ollie, Nancy Stevens, Ray Reid, or Jim Penders. Starting bids at $1000‐$2000; head coach experiences will require a donation of $3000‐$5000. Get your own one‐of‐a‐kind heirloom‐quality NCAA‐commissioned painting of a UConn Men’s Basketball National Championship. Bid on either the 1999 first Championship, or the year of the dual National Championships, 2004. Bidding starts at $4,500. Red Sox Fan Experience ‐ Seasons of Fenway – attend one game in the Spring, one In Summer, and one in the Fall ‐ 2 tickets to one game each season in the exclusive State Street Pavilion. Bidding starts at $750. Yankee Memorabilia – “Exit Sandman” – a shadowbox presentation with historic moment photo of Mariano Rivera's last game. This unique item will start bidding at $750. Rothstein and I live in West Hartford. I am testifying today in opposition to SB-1132, An Act Concerning the Admissions Tax. I would like to thank the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee for holding a public hearing on this bill. For most of my professional career, I was involved in corporate and individual tax planning and compliance with a major corporation and large accounting firms. Since last summer, I have followed the Hartford ballpark issues closely, attending untold meetings, testifying at many of them. This bill proposes that preferential treatment be given with regard to the State of Connecticut Admissions Tax at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard and the. The bill provides different rules for each of these two facilities, both of which host (or will host) professional baseball in Connecticut. The bill provides different preferences for each of these two facilities. The bill does not provide for any changes to the admissions tax for at least three other venues in Connecticut where admission is currently charged for baseball games (Dodd Stadium, Norwich; New Britain Stadium, New Britain and Fuessenich Park, Torrington). Further, the bill does not provide for any changes to the admissions tax for the wide range of other types of admissions charges subject to the tax. The enabling statute CGS 12-541(a) is quite broad in its reach with few exclusions.
