Marks: 100 Time allowed: 20 minutes Pass Marks: 35% Lectures: 75 Section A -Gurmat Sangeet Styles - 30 Marks Section B -Instrument Playing - 10 Marks Section C -Assignment - 25 Marks Section D -Knowledge of Taals - 10 Marks INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRACTICAL EXAMINER The Practical Examination will be conducted by a Board of Examiners consisting of Head of the department/Nominee, Internal teacher and External Experts as per decision of the Syndicate (25.10.91 Para 2.3). Harmonium is allowed as an accompaniment. Weightage will be given to be students reciting Shabad Kirtan along with string instruments of Gurmat Sangeet. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES Harmonium is allowed as an accompaniment but weightage will be given to the students reciting Shabad Kirtan along with string instruments of Gurmat Sangeet tradition. 1 A complete stage performance of any two of the following Kirtan Chaukis in the various music compositions of a Kirtan Chauki i.e. (Shaan, Manglacharan, Shabad Dhrupad Ang, Shabad Khyal Ang, Shabad Reet, Paurhi) according to different Bani Prakarns :  Asa di Var di Chauki - Raga Asa, Asawari Sudhang, Prabhati, Bhairo, Ramkali, Gauri  Sarang Di Chauki - Sarang, Bilawal Dakhni, Gond, Bilawal Gond.  Bilawal Di Chauki - Bilawal, Bilawal Mangal, Asawari, Maru Dakhni, Devgandhar, Soohi Lalit, Soohi Kafi, Gauri Dakhni, Gujri, Devgandhari, Todi, Basant.  Anand Karj Di Chauki - Wadhans, Soohi, Gujri, Todi, Asawari, Asa Ramkali (Anand Sahib).  Shukrane Di Chauki - Gujri, Todi, Asa Ramkali (Anand Sahib).. 2. Ability to perform the different Two Hindustani singing styles with proper Gayaki as following: Lakshan Geet, Dhrupad, Folk Song (Aniband and Nibadh) 3. Demonstration of following talas on hand/tabla/pakhawaj with Ekgun, Dugun and Chaugun, Layakari - Daadra, Kehrwa, Pauri, Chartaal Di Sawari and All taalas prescribed in Previous Semester.

The paper will consists of four sections as under: Section A - Assignments - 25 marks Section B - Detailed Ragaas - 30 marks Section C - Non-detailed Ragaas - 10 marks Section D - Hindustani Singing Styles - 10 marks INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATE 1. The candidate has to submit one assignment on the topics given by the examiner which will be evaluated by the external examiner on the basis of presentation and communication skills. 2. The candidate has to recite Shabad Keertan playing Tanti Saaz (Rabaab, Siranda, Taus, Dilruba etc.). Fifteen shabad compositions with proper Gayaki in singing style of Dhrupad Ang/Khayal Ang from the following prescribed ragas and the candidate should have brief introduction of other raagas also.
