The Georgia Dome is the largest indoor sporting facility in the United States! It seats 71,228 for football, 75,000 for concerts and 53,000 for basketball. In 2006, the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia World Congress Center Authority announced a $30 million renovation which focused on updating the premium seating areas, creating eight ‘super suites’ and an owners club, repainting the exterior to match the Falcons’ team colors, new interior and exterior video screens, upgraded gates and concourses, and an updated sound system. The stadium has been the host to numerous WWE live events, the USHRA Monster Jam, Professional Bull Riders’ premier tour, and annually hosts the Drum Corp International Southeastern Championship each summer.
The Atlanta Falcons are a member of the South Division of the National Football Conference. Their first and only Super Bowl appearance was Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999. The Falcons fight song is “Black and Red” by Jermaine Dupri.
The Georgia State Panthers compete at the highest level of NCAA competition (Division 1) and in 2010; they announced that they would be making the Georgia Dome their home field.
