Provincial Lab Sites: Operational Changes Provincial Lab Sites: Operational Changes British Columbia laboratories have initiated plans to allow for redeployment of appropriately trained and skilled staff to respond to COVID-19 and engage in the conversation strategy for personal protective equipment across the province. The Provincial Laboratory Emergency Operations Committee is planning and coordinating with public and private laboratory service providers to ensure specimen collection services remain available across British Columbia (B.C.). Currently, planning is underway to support the Provincial Health Officer’s directions around social distancing, to ensure laboratory staff and supplies are best positioned to respond to COVID-19, and to assess and identify the specimen collection sites to reduce hours and/or be temporarily closed. These changes are only temporary and will remain in effect for an indefinite amount of time as necessary to respond to COVID-19. Patients are encouraged to check the websites or call ahead to the specimen collection site for the most recent information. This document identifies the specimen collection sites across B.C. with operational changes in response to COVID-19 as of June 01, 2020. Any outpatient collection sites that have resumed their regular operating hours prior to COVID-19 have not been included in this document.
