Buffalo Sabres * Buffalo can become the first team to win each of its first three regular-season games played outside North America. Only two clubs have three such wins overall (OTT: 3-0-1 & ANA: 3-3-0).

* Only four players who appeared with the Sabres in the 2011 NHL Premiere Series remain in the League, all with different clubs (min. 1 GP in 2019-20): Tyler Ennis (OTT), Ryan Miller (ANA), (VAN) and (DAL).

* The Sabres boast six Swedish-born players on their current roster: Linus Ullmark (Lugnvik); defensemen Rasmus Dahlin (Lidkoping) and Lawrence Pilut (Tingsryd); and forwards Marcus Johansson (Landskrona), Johan Larsson (Lau) and (Ornskoldsvik).

* Rasmus Dahlin paces Sabres defensemen in scoring this season and shares the overall team lead with 10 assists (1-10—11 in 15 GP). The 19-year-old has the ninth-most career regular-season points in NHL history among teenage defensemen (10-45—55 in 97 GP).

* Dahlin is set to become the 17th teenager in NHL history to skate in a regular-season game overseas and just the seventh defenseman, following Scott Hannan (Oct. 9, 1998), Dmitry Kulikov (Oct. 2-3, 2009), Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Oct. 9-10, 2010), Cam Fowler (Oct. 7-8, 2011), Samuel Girard (Nov. 10-11, 2017) and Evan Bouchard (Oct. 6, 2018).

* Hannan (0-2—2 at Yoyogi Arena in Tokyo, Japan) and Girard (0-1—1 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden) are the only teenage defensemen to record a point in a regular-season NHL game contested outside North America. Hannan is the only teenager (of any position) to record multiple points in a regular-season NHL game overseas.

* Dahlin (19 years, 209 days as of Oct. 8, 2019) can join (18 years, 252 days on Oct. 10, 2010 w/ BOS) and Patrick Marleau (19 years, 25 days on Oct. 10, 1998 w/ SJS) as the only teenagers to score a in a regular-season NHL game outside North America.

* Dahlin will return to North America with 99 NHL games to his name. Among defensemen to debut with the Sabres, only two had as many points through the first 100 regular-season games of their career: Phil Housley (30-64—94) and Myers (15-40—55).

* Jeff Skinner, one of two current Sabres with NHL experience overseas (also Johansson), had one assist across two wins as a rookie with the Hurricanes in the 2010 NHL Premiere Series in , . Skating in the first of those games at age 18 years, 144 days on Oct. 7, 2010, Skinner became the youngest player ever to partake in a regular-season NHL game outside North America (and the youngest to record a point the next night at 18 years, 145 days).

* Olofsson has scored eight goals since making his NHL debut on March 28 of last season, all via the power play (8-6—14 in 21 GP). He is the first player in League history to record each of his first eight career goals via the power play (since 1933-34), breaking the previous mark of six shared by Jeff Norton (w/ NYI), Craig Norwich (w/ WIN) and Sylvain Turgeon (w/ HFD).

* Olofsson, the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for October, has scored all six of his goals in 2019- 20 via the man advantage. Since the NHL began tracking goals by strength in 1933-34, a forward has had each of his first seven or more goals of a season come via the power play only seven times.

* Johansson logged a +1 rating in a victory with New Jersey in the 2018 NHL Global Series at in , Sweden – roughly 150 miles from his hometown.

* , the Sabres’ scoring leader this season (7-10—17 in 15 GP), posted two points with Team North America during the 2016 , including an assist in the team’s memorable win vs. Team Sweden.

Tampa Bay Lightning * Two members of the Lightning have experience in regular-season NHL games outside North America: Ryan McDonagh (0-1—1 in 2 GP) in 2011 with the Rangers and (2 GP) as a rookie in 2008 with the Lightning.

* Stamkos hit the ice for his first regular-season game with the Lightning on Oct. 4, 2008 at in , – one of five players to make their NHL debut overseas that day (also Vladimir Mihalik w/ TBL, Janne Niskala w/ TBL, Paul Bissonnette w/ PIT and Lauri Korpikski w/ NYR). Prior to that day, 15 players had made their League debut in a regular- season game contested outside North America.

* A little more than 11 years later, Stamkos (398-381—779 in 759 GP) now needs two goals to reach 400 in his NHL career. Should he hit the mark in Sweden (760 GP or 761 GP), Stamkos would become the 21st-fastest player in League history to accumulate 400 regular season goals. Regardless of when he hits the mark, Stamkos is on track to become the second-fastest active player to reach the milestone behind Alex Ovechkin (634 GP on Dec. 20, 2013).

* Stamkos has 18 career goals against Buffalo, his eighth-highest total against one team during the regular-season behind Florida (32 G in 52 GP), Winnipeg/Atlanta (28 G in 36 GP), Philadelphia (23 G in 32 GP), Boston (21 G in 40 GP), New Jersey (20 G in 35 GP), (20 G in 40 GP) and (19 G in 38 GP).

* (Ornskoldsvik) is Tampa Bay’s lone Swedish-born player and the franchise leader in career games played (707), assists (331) and points (427) by a player from Sweden.

* Hedman is one of three different Swedish-born players to win the Norris Trophy, and the last to do so (2017-18) - following Nicklas Lidstrom (7x) and (2x). The 10 combined Norris Trophy wins by Swedish defensemen are second only to (47).

* Overall, 18 different Swedish-born players have won an individual NHL award, most recently Elias Pettersson () and Robin Lehner (Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy and William M. Jennings Trophy) last season.

* Hedman is one of three Lightning players to score a go-ahead goal in the final five minutes of regulation this season (Oct. 23 vs. PIT; also: Kevin Shattenkirk: Oct. 17 at BOS and Ondrej Palat: Oct. 30 at NJD). There have been 13 such goals across the NHL overall in 2019-20.

* Palat (98-198—296 in 440 GP) enters the 2019 NHL Global Series within reach of career milestones for goals (100), assists (200) and points (300).
