MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, 3RD AUGUST, 2017 AT THE EVANGEL ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, ADABRAKA

1.0 OPENING & DEVOTION The following members of the seven Sub-Committees of the Bible Society of The meeting started at 1:15 p.m and the General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Erasmus were present: Odonkor welcomed members to the meeting. He invited the President, Dr. Joyce i. Prof. Benjamin Abotchie Ntreh - Translation & Literacy Committee R. Aryee, to say the opening prayer after the Hymn 24 of the Asempa Hymnal ii. Mad. Gladys Odoi - Business Committee (former member of Council) was sung. Before she led the devotion based on Psalm 23, she stood in awe of iii. Mr. Dan Dzunu - Distribution Committee God and gave glory to Him for the gift of life and for bringing us to the third day iv. Mr. Sam Otu-Boateng - Business Committee (former member of Council) of the eighth month of the year. v. Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maclord Afriyie - Bible Week and Church Relations 1.1 Exhortation Committee (representing the Presiding Bishop, Methodist Church, Ghana) Rev. Dr. Joyce R. Aryee read Psalm 23 from the English Standard Version (ESV) vi. Mr. H.A.C.K. Kpozah - Business Committee and noted two truths presented in the passage as follows: vii. Rev. Reginald M. The depth of God’s love for His children causes Him to protect, guide and be near each one of His children, just as the good shepherd does 3.2 Other Introductions for his own sheep. Cancellation of BSG Health Walk 13.0 OTHER MATTERS Members were informed that the Health walk scheduled for 5th August had been cancelled and that messages via SMS and emails had already been sent 13.1 Calendar and Theme for 2018 Bible Week to that effect. The new date would be communicated in due course. The General Secretary informed the meeting of the 2018 Bible Week celebration as follows: 14.0 OFFERTORY An offering was taken in thanksgiving to God and towards Bible work. The Bible and Our Civic Responsibilities Theme 15.0 CLOSING REMARKS In her closing remarks, the President of the Society noted that after experiencing the Bible Week Launch Saturday, 3rd and Sunday, 4th February, 2018 power of God and His hand in the affairs of the BSG, there was very little else to say except to give glory to God and thank Him for all that He continued to do for us and Bible Sabbath Saturday, 10th February, 2018 through us. She noted that with what was happening all around us, we were living in times when it was obvious to us that the Lord Jesus would be coming again. The General Secretary informed the meeting that details of the 2018 Bible Week celebration were available on the last but one page of the AGM brochure. 16.0 VOTE OF THANKS Mrs Catherine Odjidja gave the vote of thanks. 13.2 Date for 2018 AGM The meeting was informed that the date for the 2018 AGM was Thursday, 2nd 17.0 CLOSING August, 2018. Apostle Okoe Mankralo said the closing prayer and gave the benediction to close the meeting at 5:05 pm. 13.3 Youth at AGM Following a member’s concern about the seeming non-involvement of young persons in the AGM, the General Secretary called all the young persons below the age of 35 years to the front to introduce themselves. He invited Rev. Erasmus Laryea to pray for the young people and encouraged members to bring their young ones to Rev. Dr. Joyce R. Aryee Rev. Dr. Erasmus N. B. Odonkor the meetings.
