CT Coalition to End Homelessness Hartford To support a 100-day initiative to end homelessness in the Willimantic $5,000 area as part of a coordinated effort in Eastern CT. This project will coordinate providers to house the area's 414 homeless people.

Domus Stamford To support introducing National Geographic’s Inside Literacy Language $20,000 Content literacy curriculum into the science, English, and social studies classes in order to increase reading skills.

Dwight Hall at Yale New Haven To support a Warming Center which will operate from Jan-March 2015 to $5,000 provide safe indoor space overnight for 50 homeless single adults. While it is not a shelter, the Warming Center will provide hot drinks, tables and chairs, and referrals to additional services that can transition people out of homelessness.

House of Bread Hartford To support Kids café, a feeding program for children between the ages of $5,000 six to twelve. Meals are delivered each week-day evening to four different boys and girls clubs in the City of Hartford. For many of these children, there would be no evening meal.

Jumpstart for Young Children New York To support general operatitions for Jumpstart programming in $10,000 Connecticut, in order to close the achievement gap among children from disparate incomes. Jumpstart provides a targeted literacy curriculum to preschool students and valuable hands-on teaching experience to college students.

Junior Achievement of Southwest New Hartford To support the needs for New Haven-area students to be economically $7,500 England self-sufficient, college ready, and prepared for future success, Junior Achievement will provide in-school and afterschool financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship programming taught by business volunteers.

New Haven Ballet New Haven To support general operating expenses for the Ballet's dance training, $5,000 performances and community programs during the 2014-2015 season.

New Haven Chorale New Haven Funds will be used to purchase a laptop computer and printer/scanner, $7,500 the first to be owned by the Chorale. This will ensure that the Chorale is using up to date equipment and that this equipment will remain with the Chorale, if a staff member concludes service with the organization.

New Haven Farms New Haven To support the Farm-Based Wellness Program which grows fresh produce $2,500 on small urban farms for low-income neighborhood families with an adult with a chronic health-related disease.

New Haven Free Public Library New Haven To fund "READy for the Grade", a public library, K-3 summer reading $17,116 initiative developed by NewAlliance Foundation where the Library will partner with Fair Haven School to develop a program to stem summer reading loss and maintain grade-level reading in children from low-income families.

St. Joseph's Residence Enfield To support the replacement of 25 old, worn-out mattresses that put $5,000 elderly residents at risk for skin breakdown and pressure sores.

St. Martin dePorres Academy New Haven To support the Graduate Support Program in order to offer a stipend for $20,000 an additional staff member, travel and application fees, as well as resources and opportunities to support the growth of our students' literacy skills.

Yale-New Haven Hospital New Haven To support a capital campaign focusing on the need to rebuild four floors $20,000 that include OB/Triage/Recovery, Labor & Birth, Maternal Special Care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

YMCA Central Connecticut Coast New Haven To support the purchase of books to establish libraries at the summer $10,000 camps for four of its branches. These libraries will facilitate the launch of a formal literacy program, Camp Readers.
