COUNSELOR CONNECTION – MR. EIKEN

Happy Holiday season! We have been discussing character traits in Guidance recently and will be continuing to explore character during the early part of December. I have been attempting to stress to the kids that despite the challenges presented in all aspects of our lives, our perseverance, resilience, goodwill, and generosity will help get us through these challenging times. We will overcome our challenges together and come out stronger and more resilient on the other side. During these difficult times, please reach out to me if you need or know of other families in need of assistance. We are blessed to be living and working with amazing neighbors, community members, and business organizations and I will do my best to connect you with available resources. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you and yours. [email protected] or (608) 526-1600 option #4.

Favorite movie? I don't necessarily have a favorite movie but I do enjoy musicals. My daughters and I are currently obsessed with Hamilton to the point my daughter thinks we should be the Schuyler sisters for Halloween next year! I never really thought about what Alexander Hamilton meant to our country until I saw his story come to life on stage.

If I could learn to do anything it would be to play the piano by ear. I took lessons as a kid but could never get the hang of it. I don't think I made it past Jingle Bells!

What is something I learned in the past week? I learned that baking soda down a drain followed by vinegar will clear a clog. I was very grateful for that life hack this week!!

Do I have any pets? I have a 13 yrs. old Jack Russell mix named Maggie and she loves to open gifts, even if they're not hers!

If you could have any superpower what would it be? TELEPATHY! I would love to be able to communicate with people who are unable or have a hard time speaking.
