No. 929-3244, 927-9702 Loc.131; Cell phone: 09159111585 ___________________________________________________________________ PDEA GIVES RECOGNITION TO 8 DRUG LAW ENFORCEMENT UNITS The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recently cited the exemplary contributions of eight drug law enforcement units to the national campaign against illegal drugs. During the regular PDEA flag-raising ceremony held on February 16, 2015 at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr., recognized the District Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operations Task Group (DAID-SOTG) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), District Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operations Task Group (DAID-SOTG) of the Manila Police District (MPD), Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PNP-AIDSOTF), PNP Regional Office 13-Regional Intelligence Division, Imus City Police Station, PDEA Special Enforcement Service (SES), PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3), and PDEA Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA RO-CAR) for their notable anti-drug operations. The awarding ceremony was also witnessed by Police Senior Superintendent Danilo Agana Bautista, Deputy District Director for Operations of DAIDSOTG, QCPD and representative of the guest speaker during the ceremony, Police Chief Superintendent Joel D. Pagdilao, District Director, QCPD. The DAID-SOTG, QCPD was cited twice, one- for the successful conduct of a buy- bust operation on November 21, 2014 which resulted in the arrest of one Chinese national and the seizure of 4.887 kilos of shabu worth P20 million, while another – for the confiscation of 9.3 kilos of shabu, with an estimated value of P50 million and the arrest of four drug personalities in Xavierville Subdivision, Barangay Loyola, Quezon City on January 30, 2015. The DAIDSOTG, MPD was given recognition for the buy-bust operation on January 2, 2015 that led to the seizure of 3.699 kilos of shabu in C. Palanca Street, San Miguel, Manila. The PNP-AIDSOTF received citation for the comprehensive intelligence gathering that led to the successful interdiction operation on January 5, 2015 at People’s Air Cargo Warehouse. Confiscated during the operation was 38.65 kilos of shabu. Likewise, the Special Operations Unit-2 of PNP-AIDSOTF was recognized for the successful conduct of an entrapment operation on December 10, 2014 resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the confiscation of 1 kilo of shabu at a parking lot in Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. PNP RO13-RID was given recognition for the successful implementation of a search warrant on January 22, 2015 in Butuan City leading to the seizure of 2.1419 kilos of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and one cal. 45 pistol, while the Imus City Police Station received recognition for the successful conduct of an entrapment operation which resulted in the confiscation of P15 million worth of shabu on January 31, 2015 in Imus, Cavite. PDEA SES under Director Ismael Fajardo Jr. was cited for the arrest of a Mexican national and the seizure of 2.265 kilos of cocaine along Makati Avenue, Barangay Poblacion, Makati City on January 11, 2015. PDEA RO3 under Director Jeoffrey Tacio was responsible for the confiscation of 1,010 pieces of ecstasy tablets worth P1.5 million during an interdiction operation in Philpost Central Office, Parañaque City on January 8, 2015, while PDEA RO-CAR under Director Ronald Allan Ricardo received citation for the marijuana eradication operation in 11 plantation sites in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet that led to the destruction of P66.2 million worth of marijuana from January 8 to 10, 2015. “Congratulations to our counterparts from the PNP for a job well done. They have always been a strong ally in our fight against the drug menace.
