MANAGER’S VIEW “A 0-0 seems boring but I thought it was exciting. We made the league leaders resort to lumping it forwards and putting four up front which shows our quality.” PLAYER’S VIEW - SONNY MILES “We could have nicked one at the end, but it could have gone either way. Myles (Roberts) made some excellent early saves to keep us in it.” FAN’S VIEW - NICK WARD “We dug in well, which is what you need for matches like this. The refereeing in this division again leaves something to be desired, but it’s a big point on the road.”

PART 3: BUCKINGHAM TOWN Compiled by Wink Tomkinson Buckingham Town Football Club were forced to change their name to Milton Keynes Robins earlier this year. The club were established as Buckingham Town in 1883. They became founder members of the Hellenic League in 1953, but left after only four seasons. Buckingham joined the South Midlands League in 1971, where they played until joining the United Counties League in 1974. They were Premier Division champions in 1983–84, and the following season they reached the first round of the FA Cup for the only time in their history, losing 2–0 at home to Leyton Orient. In 1985–86 Buckingham were promoted to the Midland Division of the Southern League. After being transferred to the Southern Division in 1988, they won the division in 1990-91 but were not promoted as their ground failed to meet the standards required. They were moved back to the Midland Division in 1994, but returned to the Southern Division in 1996. However, after finishing bottom of the division in 1996-97, they were relegated back to the Premier Division of the United Counties League. Buckingham Town FC were forced to move from their ground in 2011 and played at Manor Fields Sports Ground in Milton Keynes for the past few seasons. The club announced that they were folding at the end of the 2017/18 season, however, the decision was later reversed. The club found that following their move to Milton Keynes they struggled to get funding and sponsorship from people and businesses in Milton Keynes and reluctantly decided to change the club’s name to Milton Keynes Robins in a hope to attract the financial backing needed to keep going with no prospect of a return to Buckingham.
