Basis The fundamental principles of these Statutes, which are composed of the Constitution, the Breeding Program and the Studbook Regulations, are based on the German law of association in accordance with the German Civil Code (BGB) and the zootechnical legislation of the European Community, the Federal Republic of Germany and German States as well as Member and Contracting States in the sphere of activity and the Breeding Society Regulations of the German Equestrian Federation (FN), a registered association. I. Constitution 1. In General §1 The society is designated " Verband der Züchter des Oldenburger Pferdes e. V", named "Verband" in the following. It is registered in the Oldenburg Register of Associations with number 848 and the suffix "e. V.", meaning a registered association. The registered and head office is in 49377 Vechta, Germany. The Verband is a breeders' association in the sense of the German law on breeding livestock and keeps a Studbook on the origin of the "Oldenburg" breed. §2 The sign of the Verband is the Oldenburg brand mark. §3 The financial year is the calendar year. §4 The area of the Verband includes all States of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary and the USA. The core breeding area encompasses the former administrative district Oldenburg, State of Lower Saxony, as well as the former Oldenburg area Lübeck/East Holstein, as listed in § 18 sections 1-8 §5 The Verband acts selflessly; it does not primarily pursue economic purposes of its own and is only active for members on principle. §6 The duty of the Verband is to take all measures to promote the Oldenburg Horse as well as German state horse breeding in general in cooperation with the leading organizations in German horse breeding and equestrian sport. This duty should be fulfilled by: 6.1 Keeping a Studbook according to Studbook Regulations which is a part of the Statutes 6.2 Advise members on questions concerning the breeding, keeping and feeding of horses, control of illnesses, etc. 6.3 Uniform breeding measures, especially through restrictions on the best breeding material and assistance in the purchase of stallions from other breeds 6.4 Promotion of sales events and the schooling of Oldenburg horses. 2. Membership §7 Active members may be either a natural person or an entity who/which owns a horse that is eligible for registration in the Studbook according to the Studbook Regulations of the Verband

  • Quantum Dot Structures in the Ingaas System Investigated by TEM Techniques
Cryst. Res. Technol. 35 2000 6–7 759–768 P. WERNER, K. SCHEERSCHMIDT , N. D. ZAKHAROV, R. HILLEBRAND, M. GRUNDMANN*, R. SCHNEIDER** Max-Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, Halle / Saale, Germany *Technical University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany **Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany Quantum Dot Structures in the InGaAs System Investigated by TEM Techniques Dedicated to Prof. Dr. J. Heydenreich on the occasion of his 70th birthday Quantum dot structures have gained increasing interest in materials science due to their special electrical and optical behavior. A combination of electron-optical techniques is applied to correlate such properties with the morphology and structure of quantum dots in the InGaAs system. TEM techniques, e.g. imaging by conventional diffraction contrast, by high-resolution TEM and by energy filtering (EFTEM) are focused on the determination of parameters, like shape and size of islands, their chemical composition and the complex lattice strain fields. An image contrast analysis in terms of shape and strain demands the application of image simulation techniques based on the dynamical theory and on structure models refined by molecular dynamics or molecular static energy minimization. Keywords: : quantum dots, InGaAs, Transmission Electron Microscopy, crystal structure (Received May 4, 2000; Accepted July 1, 2000) 1. Introduction The investigation of semiconducting nanostructures is especially focused on the properties of so-called quantum dots (QD), which are embedded in a different semiconducting bulk or in other materials. The possibility of arranging such particles or ”dots” into complex arrays implies many opportunities for scientific investigations and technological applications. Over the last 10 years, various ways have been applied successfully to create semiconductor particles of several 10 nm in size, evidencing special properties to be different from the bulk behavior (for an overview see, e.g., MRS Bulletin).

  • List of Horse Breeds 1 List of Horse Breeds
List of horse breeds 1 List of horse breeds This page is a list of horse and pony breeds, and also includes terms used to describe types of horse that are not breeds but are commonly mistaken for breeds. While there is no scientifically accepted definition of the term "breed,"[1] a breed is defined generally as having distinct true-breeding characteristics over a number of generations; its members may be called "purebred". In most cases, bloodlines of horse breeds are recorded with a breed registry. However, in horses, the concept is somewhat flexible, as open stud books are created for developing horse breeds that are not yet fully true-breeding. Registries also are considered the authority as to whether a given breed is listed as Light or saddle horse breeds a "horse" or a "pony". There are also a number of "color breed", sport horse, and gaited horse registries for horses with various phenotypes or other traits, which admit any animal fitting a given set of physical characteristics, even if there is little or no evidence of the trait being a true-breeding characteristic. Other recording entities or specialty organizations may recognize horses from multiple breeds, thus, for the purposes of this article, such animals are classified as a "type" rather than a "breed". The breeds and types listed here are those that already have a Wikipedia article. For a more extensive list, see the List of all horse breeds in DAD-IS. Heavy or draft horse breeds For additional information, see horse breed, horse breeding and the individual articles listed below.
