  • Decca Discography
DECCA DISCOGRAPHY >>V VIENNA, Austria, Germany, Hungary, etc. The Vienna Philharmonic was the jewel in Decca’s crown, particularly from 1956 when the engineers adopted the Sofiensaal as their favoured studio. The contract with the orchestra was secured partly by cultivating various chamber ensembles drawn from its membership. Vienna was favoured for symphonic cycles, particularly in the mid-1960s, and for German opera and operetta, including Strausses of all varieties and Solti’s “Ring” (1958-65), as well as Mackerras’s Janá ček (1976-82). Karajan recorded intermittently for Decca with the VPO from 1959-78. But apart from the New Year concerts, resumed in 2008, recording with the VPO ceased in 1998. Outside the capital there were various sessions in Salzburg from 1984-99. Germany was largely left to Decca’s partner Telefunken, though it was so overshadowed by Deutsche Grammophon and EMI Electrola that few of its products were marketed in the UK, with even those soon relegated to a cheap label. It later signed Harnoncourt and eventually became part of the competition, joining Warner Classics in 1990. Decca did venture to Bayreuth in 1951, ’53 and ’55 but wrecking tactics by Walter Legge blocked the release of several recordings for half a century. The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra’s sessions moved from Geneva to its home town in 1963 and continued there until 1985. The exiled Philharmonia Hungarica recorded in West Germany from 1969-75. There were a few engagements with the Bavarian Radio in Munich from 1977- 82, but the first substantial contract with a German symphony orchestra did not come until 1982.

  • CV Niklas Goldbach Niklas Goldbach, Born 1973 in Witten, Germany, Lives
CV Niklas Goldbach Niklas Goldbach, born 1973 in Witten, Germany, lives and works in Berlin. After studying Sociology at Bielefeld University and “Photography and Video” at the Unversity of Applied Sciences Bielefeld, he was awarded with the “Meisterschüler” degree at the University of the Arts Berlin in 2006. In 2005 he received the Fulbright Grant New York and majored in the MFA program of Hunter College, New York City. In his videos, photographies and installations Goldbach is involved in the relation between architecture and necropolitics in their modernist traditions and postmodern manifestations. Established between reality and fiction, Goldbach’ dissects architectural elements that serve both as backdrops and catalysts of (neo)liberal and (neo)colonial subject construction to create ambiguous perceptions of man-made environments through the lens of a globally expanding interconnectivity of these sites. In his earlier film works, his often duplicated protagonists have colonized epic stages of modern architectural complexes, postmodern urban environments or alleged paradises defying civilisation, all finding their commonality as places oscillating between utopia and dystopia. Niklas Goldbach received several scholarships (among others Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn 2010, Arbeitsstipendium Bildende Kunst des Berliner Senats 2013, Projektförderung des Berliner Senats 2014, Dresdener Stipendium für Fotografie 2016, Villa Aurora Los Angeles 2017, Recherchstipendium des Berliner Senats 2021) and presented his works in numerous solo shows, group exhibitions, and festivals in venues such as the Berlinale, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen , Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Galerie im Taxispalais Innsbruck, Museo Reina Sofia Madrid, Mori-Art Museum Tokyo, Shanghai 21st Century Minsheng Art Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Cornerhouse Manchester, Barbican Arts Center London, S.M.A.K.

Standardization and inimitability, containment and individual freedom, ostentation and understatement are only some of the antagonistic issues that create the kind of socio-psychological conflicts around which Niklas Goldbachs work revolves. The interaction between psychological settings and the urban as well as the natural environment shaping our contemporary living conditions and mind sets are often in the center of Niklas Goldbachs work. For the first time, the exhibition brings together two of Goldbach’s most recent work series: the video-installation cycle “The Nature of Things” (2010-2014) and a selection of his extensive photographic series “Everything In Its Right Place» (2013). With this selection, the artist’s research on the ambiguous tension between the individual’s desire for uniqueness and modern society’s tendency to enforce conformity are juxtaposed. In the video installations “The Nature of Things”, the protagonists are either tied to a tree, a metal pole or a wooden post.

  • Decca Discography
DECCA DISCOGRAPHY >>4 GREAT BRITAIN: digital, 1979-2008 In the early 1970s the advent of Anthony Rooley, the Consort of Musicke, Emma Kirkby, Christopher Hogwood and the Academy of Ancient Music brought a fresh look at repertoire from Dowland to Purcell, Handel, Mozart and eventually Beethoven. Solti recorded with the LPO from 1972 and the National Philharmonic was booked regularly from 1974-84. Also during the 1970s the London Sinfonietta’s surveys of Schönberg and Janá ček were recorded. Ashkenazy’s second career as a conductor centred initially on London, with the Philharmonia from 1977 and the RPO from 1987. Philip Pickett’s New London Consort joined the Florilegium roster in 1985 and Argo’s new look brought in a variety of ensembles in the 1990s. But after an LPO Vaughan Williams cycle was aborted in 1997, Decca’s own UK recordings comprised little more than piano music and recital discs. Outside London, Argo recorded regularly in Cambridge and Oxford. Decca engaged the Welsh National Opera from 1980-96 and the Bournemouth Symphony from 1990-96, but otherwise made little use of regional British orchestras. By the time they raised their performing standards to an acceptable level, Chandos, Hyperion and Naxos had largely replaced the old majors in the market for orchestral sessions. >RV0 VENUES One hundred and seventy different venues were used, eighty-eight in the London area and eighty-two elsewhere in Britain, but only one in ten (those in bold ) hosted thirty or more entries, whilst seventy were only visited once. LONDON AREA ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS , St.John’s Wood, London NW8 (1931), initially restricted to EMI labels, were opened to all from 1968.

  • Vivaldi Four Seasons Pdf
Vivaldi four seasons pdf Continue A set of four violin concerts by Antonio Vivaldi Antonio Vivaldi (engraved by Francois Morellon de La Cave, from Michel-Charles Le Saint edition Op. 8 Vivaldi, 1725) Four Seasons (Italian: Le quattro stagi) is a group of four violin concerts by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, each giving a musical expression of the season of the year. They were written around 1716-1717 and published in 1725 in Amsterdam, along with eight additional concerts like Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione (Competition between Harmony and Invention). Four Seasons is Vivaldi's most famous work. Although the three concerts are completely original, the first, Spring, borrows motifs from sinfonia in the first act of the modern opera Vivaldi Il Giustino. The concert was inspired by the non-rural area around Mantua, as was originally intended, where Vivaldi lived at the time, as, according to Carl Heller, they could have been written as early as 1716-1717, while Vivaldi was engaged to Mantua court only in 1718. They were a revolution in musical conception: in them Vivaldi was a flowing stream, singing birds (each of which was specially described), a shepherd and his barking dog, buzzing flies, storms, drunken dancers, hunting parties both in terms of hunters and in terms of prey, frozen landscapes and warm winter fires. Unusually for that period, Vivaldi published a concert with accompanying sonnets (perhaps written by the composer himself) that explained that it was in the spirit of each season that his music was meant to evoke. Therefore, the concert is one of the earliest and most detailed examples of what could be called programmatic music, i.e.
