The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Botanical Garden in Lublin As a Refuge of the Moths (Lepidoptera: Heterocera) Within the City
Acta Biologica 23/2016 | www.wnus.edu.pl/ab | DOI: 10.18276/ab.2016.23-02 | strony 15–34 The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Botanical Garden in Lublin as a refuge of the moths (Lepidoptera: Heterocera) within the city Łukasz Dawidowicz,1 Halina Kucharczyk2 Department of Zoology, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Akademicka 19, 20-033 Lublin, Poland 1 e-mail: [email protected] 2 e-mail: [email protected] Keywords biodiversity, urban fauna, faunistics, city, species composition, rare species, conservation Abstract In 2012 and 2013, 418 species of moths at total were recorded in the Botanical Garden of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The list comprises 116 species of Noctuidae (26.4% of the Polish fauna), 116 species of Geometridae (28.4% of the Polish fauna) and 63 species of other Macrolepidoptera representatives (27.9% of the Polish fauna). The remaining 123 species were represented by Microlepidoptera. Nearly 10% of the species were associated with wetland habitats, what constitutes a surprisingly large proportion in such an urbanised area. Comparing the obtained data with previous studies concerning Polish urban fauna of Lepidoptera, the moths assemblages in the Botanical Garden were the most similar to the one from the Natolin Forest Reserve which protects the legacy of Mazovian forests. Several recorded moths appertain to locally and rarely encountered species, as Stegania cararia, Melanthia procellata, Pasiphila chloerata, Eupithecia haworthiata, Horisme corticata, Xylomoia graminea, Polychrysia moneta. In the light of the conducted studies, the Botanical Garden in Lublin stands out as quite high biodiversity and can be regarded as a refuge for moths within the urban limits of Lublin. -

This text defines in particular the criteria for an area to be qualified for designation as a biosphere reserve (Article 4). In addition, Article 9 foresees a periodic review every ten years The periodic review is based on a report prepared by the relevant authority, on the basis of the criteria of Article 4. The periodic review must be submitted by the national MAB Committee to the MAB Secretariat in Paris. The text of the Statutory Framework is presented in the third annex. The form which follows is provided to help States prepare their national reports in accordance with Article 9 and to update the Secretariat's information on the biosphere reserve concerned. This report should enable the International Coordinating Council (ICC) of the MAB Programme to review how each biosphere reserve is fulfilling the criteria of Article 4 of the Statutory Framework and, in particular, the three functions: conservation, development and support. It should be noted that it is requested, in the last part of the form (Criteria and Progress Made), that an indication be given of how the biosphere reserve fulfils each of these criteria. -

Fjärilar I Tinnerö Eklandskap Inventering 2014/15
Man brukar även dela in fjärilarna i storfjärilar (s.k. macros) och småfjärilar (s.k. micros) utefter deras storlek. -

Lampropteryx Otregiata (METCALFE, 1917) Und Aplota Palpella
Melanargia, 24 (1): 1-5 Leverkusen, 1.4.2012 Lampropteryx otregiata (METCALFE , 1917) und Aplota palpella (HAWORTH , 1828) im Bergischen Land (NRW) (Lep., Geometridae et Oecophoridae) von HEINZ SCHUMACHER Zusammenfassung: Beschrieben wird ein Wiederfund der in Nordrhein-Westfalen als verschollen eingestuften Spannerart Lampropteryx otregiata (METCALFE , 1917) sowie der Erstnachweis von Aplota palpella (HAWORTH , 1828) für das Bergische Land. Abstract: Lampropteryx otregiata (METCALFE , 1917) and Aplota palpella (HAWORTH , 1828) in the the Bergi- sches Land region (North-Rhine Westphalia) Refinding in North-Rhine Westphalia of the geometrid species Lampropteryx otregiata (METCALFE , 1917) which was considered to be lost as well as the first record of Aplota palpella (Haworth, 1828) for the Bergisches Land. 1986 fanden H.-J. -

An ecological analysis underlines the particular importance of the sandy dune system and halophytic depression for Lepidoptera. Biogeographically, species which are widely distributed in Eurasia and/or North America or which are even cosmopolitan cover about 72% of the inventory.
