The book ends with 4 poems in French with facing English by the author. The last line in English of the final poem has been lined out and a corrected written in ink and initialed by Beckett. Loosely inserted is a note from Boyle to “Dear reader,” dated, “August, 16, 1991,” which explains this textual change. She sent the book back to Beckett asking him “to be more accurate in his translating of his own work from French into English…” With his usual good nature, he made the change and mailed it back to her.
