Dear Friends:

This week we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord and the formal conclusion of the Christmas season. I thank all of you again for the joy that you brought to these holy days. Our Art and Environment Ministry will “de-decorate” our church this Sunday after Masses. Thanks again to Denise Lang, Michelle Thompson, and all those who helped with decorations for Advent and Christmas.

Now, believe it or not, we set our sights on planning for Lent and Easter. In a parish office, the various seasons of the year come and go quickly. We try to stay as ahead as possible with preparation for the coming feasts. I will be meeting, for example, with our music ministry to discuss Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. All of the priests of our area have been planning and scheduling evenings for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and so on. Our goal is to offer all of us the opportunity for a grace-filled Lenten and Easter time. You will also see more and more of our RCIA candidates. Please keep them and our team in your prayers.

All of the priests of our diocese will be away this coming week for our annual clergy study days. We will be staying in Metarie. For emergency needs, please contact the Parish Office.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Fr. Trey Nelson Pastor
