Northeast Michigan Integrated Assessment Final Report. [MICHU-09-207] Available at: www.miseagrant.umich.edu Acknowledgements Michigan Sea Grant would like to thank the many Northeast Michigan stakeholders who voluntarily participated in this process. Whether helping decide the focal question, commenting on a technical assessment, or voicing an opinion on potential actions, the enthusiasm, commitment, and knowledge of the stakeholders were integral to the success of this integrated assessment. We would also like to thank all of the peer reviewers for their time and expertise in reviewing these assessments. Their comments and advice certainly improved the final product, which we hope will improve regional efforts at developing sustainable coastal tourism in Northeast Michigan. The following Michigan Sea Grant staff members deserve recognition for their contributions to this integrated assessment: Brandon Schroeder coordinated stakeholder engagement; Jen Read managed the technical assessments; Keely Dinse led the peer review process and compiled the final document; and Todd Marsee designed the cover and chapter title pages. Finally, we appreciate the following organizations for providing important resources – meeting space, funding, and personnel – in support of this project: American Institute of Architects Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan Michigan Coastal Zone

  • Knysna Yacht Club 2015/ 2016 CALENDAR of EVENTS
Knysna Yacht Club 2015/ 2016 CALENDAR OF EVENTS www.knysnayachtclub.com facebook.com/knysnayachtclub COMMODORE’S MESSAGE The Knysna Yacht Club is one of the biggest, and dare I say, one of the nicest yacht clubs in the country and it is indeed an honour and a privilege to have been elected as its Commodore for the year. Building a club like this does not happen overnight. It takes years of dedication from both Committee and general members. The previous Committee, under Jim Parke’s wing, did enormous amounts of work at the club. I would like to see that we can take it even further. We have had great success over this past year amongst our sailors. We had various participants who were successful in their age groups and we are very proud of what they have achieved. I would like to thank each and every one of them as they proudly continue to represent Knysna Yacht Club. Andrew Finn has done a magnificent job with the sailing and I would, on behalf of everyone at the club, like to thank him for all the hours and the dedication he has put in. It is wonderful to see all the water sports come together at the club - from sailors all the way through to SUP boarders. We have very successful boat and canoe builders in town and prominent sailors as members at the Knysna Yacht Club. It is a place where all these families get together and enjoy themselves. The Canoe section has grown immensely and it is lovely to see all the canoeists and their families on the water on a Tuesday afternoon.

  • Győr, Hungary 11-13 September, 2015 Icf Canoe
ICF CANOE MARATHON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS BULLETIN No. 1. GYŐR, HUNGARY 11-13 SEPTEMBER, 2015 GREETINGS FROM THE MAYOR Győr has always been home to the training of sport icons: lots of champions have started their sports career or arrived to the top of it here. In the „City of Rivers” kayak and canoe competitors of Győr representing the most successful sport branch of Hungary have several times achieved smashing victories and classified very well in prestigious competitions. Upbringing of youth teams has always been a priority to Győr, so development in sportslife is unbroken here. Probably it is not just a pure coincidence that Győr can be home to such an important event in the kayak and canoeing sport for the third time, and also host to the first paracanoe competitions. I hope that our Guests will have time to discover the beauties of our City and have some days full of sports events and wonderful experiences. Zsolt Borkai Mayor BEFORE BREAKTHROUGH In 2015 the marathon canoe racing returns to Győr, the town of waters, where after 1999 and 2007 we can host the world championships in this discipline exceptionally already for the third time. The Hungarian canoe sport at the peak of its success is getting ready for the big shot, as we wish to organise the best ever marathon race in September, which marvels the whole world. The county seat of West Hungary really has excellent water features, the races run almost through the downtown area. And Győr is moreover a real sport town, where great many fans know and follow the events of the canoe sport and where full support is given to such big-scale events.
