Comme preuve supplémentaire de la reconnaissance accordée à la manifestation, la FIE a sélectionné en 2013 le Master de Fleuret pour célébrer son centenaire en France. Cette crédibilité acquise auprès des instances confirme le statut sportif et extra sportif de l’événement, véritable vitrine pour la promotion de la discipline. Depuis 2009, à mi-saison, huit des meilleurs fleurettistes de la planète sont conviés à venir participer au Master de Fleuret Melun Val de Seine. Grâce à sa renommée, son palmarès et au soutien renouvelé de la Communauté d’Agglomération Melun Val de Seine, le Cercle d’Escrime Melun Val de Seine est parvenu à faire du Master un événement unique, une véritable vitrine pour la promotion de l’escrime et le rayonnement international de son territoire. Pour la 7ème édition, c’est près d’un millier de spectateurs qui assistera aux assauts magiques et spectaculaires des tout meilleurs de la discipline, à l’Espace Pierre Bachelet, à Dammarie-lès-Lys.     The phenomenal success of Team GB is something we can all celebrate because in part it is something we all own. It is arguably one of the best co-operative movements of our modern time. The athletes are supported by a team of people behind them, including coaches, physios, nutritionists, performance analysts and so on, all funded by the public through lottery and government spending. They have repaid that investment in gold, silver and bronze aplenty making this the best ever away games for the Team. The importance of these games should not be underestimated. There was immense pressure on all involved to match the success of London 2012. A home game medal tally is something that can rarely be repeated away, which is why the target was set to beat our haul in Beijing, but success is not simply about medals. It is as much about performance and many of athletes achieved great things beyond expectation despite not being in the top three. One great example, which I was lucky enough to see live in Rio, was our fencing team. They are the nicest bunch you can meet and their target for Rio was eight to medal so their fourth place was at the higher end of expectations. Richard Kruse fought gallantly and looking at social media reaction back home he seemed to have enlightened and excited people about a sport they had not watched before. That too is one of the inevitable outcomes of a successful Olympic games; the inspiration factor. People watching these games, especially youngsters, will hopefully get that twitch of inspiration.

Une année 2020 qui a débuté et s’est terminée en pleine incertitude à cause de la crise sanitaire mondiale COVID 19. 2020 devait être une année olympique, une année importante pour le CREPS. A notre premier objectif : l’ambition de rayonnement de l’établissement dans le bassin caribéen, en renforçant les collaborations avec des établissements français et caribéens également impliqués dans l’expertise et la recherche de performance sportive, était associé notre second objectif : l’ambition de tisser de nouveaux partenariats avec des entreprises privées qui soutiennent la recherche d’excellence de notre institution. L’établissement reste toujours concentré sur la recherche d’un modèle économique dynamique qui se traduirait par une augmentation de ses ressources propres. Durant la crise sanitaire, tous les protocoles ont été mis en place et respectés pour assurer le fonctionnement de l’établissement. Tous les agents, toutes catégories confondues sont restés mobilisés pour offrir les conditions d’entrainement, de préparation et de formation optimisées à tous les publics.

Obiettivo del premio non è solo quello di offrire un riconoscimento ai campioni dello sport, ma anche quello di evidenziare il troppo spesso oscuro lavoro di quegli atleti che, pur non praticando una disciplina sportiva popolare, hanno dedicato la loro vita e il loro entusiasmo agli sport minori, nobilitandone il ruolo e favorendone la diffusione. Il «Torretta» non si ferma allo sport perché premia, inoltre, persone che si sono distinte nella cultura, nelle professioni, nella solidarietà, per la qualità, la creatività, la capacità innovativa, l’umanità e il senso civico della loro opera. Anche per questo la manifestazione ha avuto ampi riconoscimenti a tutti i livelli istituzionali, a partire dalla Presidenza della Repubblica. Nell’ambito della manifestazione verrà assegnato il Trofeo «Atleta dell’Anno», in collaborazione con Telelombardia, Antenna 3.
