Energy Day 2016 Accomplishments Recognized by the City of Houston as an annual event with an official City of Houston Proclamation According to police estimates, Energy Day 2016 attracted 23,000+ attendees to its 6th Annual festival on October 15, 2016 55 exhibits showcasing energy technology, STEM, careers, conservation, efficiency and more A survey of students who attended Energy Day 2016 reported that after attending the festival: o 94% of the students find STEM subjects more interesting, o 81% of the students have a better understanding of STEM/Energy Industry jobs o More than half of the students reported an increased understanding of the Energy Industry and an interest in pursuing a career in the industry 100 Community Partners & Sponsors Awarded more than $14,000 to 97 students and teachers through the Energy Day Academic Program (EDAP). Since the EDAP began in 2011, CEEF and CEA have provided nearly $90,000 in financial awards to over 515 K- 12 students and teachers. Provided more than 35 buses to transport almost 1500 Houston-area students to Energy Day Worked with several Houston-area School Districts to market to students, teachers, and parents, including Houston ISD, Alief ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Pasadena ISD, Spring Branch ISD, Katy ISD, Clear Creek ISD, and Deer Park ISD.
