Since backronyms are likely to be confused with other linguistic phenomena, such as acrostics, apronyms, disabbreviations, and recursive acronyms, the differences between these notions are also analysed in the article. Key words: backronym, poreionym (transport brand name), acronym, non-acronym, acrostic, apronym, disabbreviation, recursive acronym, language game. 1. HEGGEMANN Helps with Series Start-Up the Aerospace Technology
press release / Airport PAD / Büren-Ahden 12/04/2019 HEGGEMANN helps with series start-up The aerospace technology specialist at Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport is taking on a major order from Vietnam. The excavators have already arrived to move many cubic meters of earth on HEGGEMANN AG's new expansion site. In its core business, the specialist from Büren focuses on the development and implementation of highly complex metal assemblies for the aviation industry. For example, complete landing gear systems are developed, tested and transferred to series production, or complex welded assemblies made of special materials such as titanium are produced for aircraft engines. In addition to the aviation sector, the automotive industry has traditionally used the vertical integration of the lightweight construction specialist for selected series projects for more than 30 years. Very quickly, in the fourth quarter of 2018, HEGGEMANN AG received a major order from the new Vietnamese automotive group VinFast, which emerged from VinGroup, a globally active multi-group. In a first step, VinFast manufactures two models under license, which are based on the technology of the last BMW 5 Series and BMW X5 Series. More than half of VinFast's suppliers come from Germany. In connection with HEGGEMANN AG, the list with names such as ABB, Bosch, Dürr, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp and ZF reads impressively. HEGGEMANN was selected because of its reliable customer relationships within the automotive industry to ensure the start-up of the complex front and rear axle production. In order to implement this ambitious project, HEGGEMANN is expanding its production areas directly at the site where the series production plant will be put into operation. -
Why We Currently Miss the Full Potential of Head-Mounted Displays in Vehicles
Get to the Head: Why We Currently Miss the Full Potential of Head-Mounted Displays in Vehicles Christian Mai Kai Holländer LMU Munich LMU Munich [email protected] [email protected] ABSTRACT Current concepts of automated vehicles include an increasing usage of internal infotainment displays. Although being visually appealing, such display concepts introduce drawbacks in terms of ergonomics – neck stress and unnatural interaction with a display in the side door – and increase the price. Additionally, occupants of a vehicle often occlude screens for others or their seating orientation might complicate viewing a specific display. Other design concepts introduce the usage of hand-held devices to transmit information about the car. We propose to use augmented and virtual reality head-mounted displays instead of fixed screens to overcome these issues. While concepts that based on displays and handheld devices consequently design for the use of these devices, there are no concepts that showcase interior designs for HMD usage. Current advances to use HMDs inside the car just showcase the possibility to wear a headset while being in the car. Important questions for the interior concept, such as the storage of HMDs, the integration with the existing HMD and the consequent use of the interior to support interaction in VR, have not yet been addressed. We present two exemplary scenarios that showcase the possible impact a consequent design for HMDs could have on the vehicles interior. With our proposal we want to foster the discussion on the possibilities of HMDs and the Figure 1: We present an example of how needs on the interior design to make use of the full potential of VR experiences in the car. -
A Study of Automotive Industry in Vietnam
A Study of Automotive Industry in Vietnam Abstract Automobile industry is the important policy of national economic development in Vietnam. With the rapid development of national economy, more and more attention is paid to the automobile industry. Therefore, this research mainly discussed the current development and sales of automobile industry during the period from 2000 to 2016 in Vietnam and analyzed the factors affecting Vietnam’s automobile manufacturing quantity, so as to understand the future development direction of Vietnam’s automobile industry. The empirical results are shown as below: Foreign direct investment has the positive effect on Vietnam’s automobile manufacturing quantity. It means that the increase in foreign direct investment will promote Vietnam’s automobile manufacturing industry to grow and the automobile manufacturing quantity will increase. The total average population has the positive effect on Vietnam’s automobile manufacturing quantity. It means that the larger population will cause the higher demand for automobile. Thus, the automobile manufacturing quantity will increase. -
