APPOINTMENT OF PUBLIC TRUSTEE OF CHARITIES. IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in me by section 3 of the Charities (Public Trustee) Ordinance, I, GENERAL SIR ALAN Cap. 15. GORDON CUNNINGHAM, K.C.B., D.S.O., M.C, High Commissioner for Palestine, do hereby appoint, with effect from the date of the publication hereof in the Gazette, the undermentioned officer to be the Public Trustee of Charities. RULES MADE BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER IN COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 13. IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by section 13 of the Charities (Public Trustee) Ordinance, the High Commissioner in Cap. 15. The Public Trustee of Charities may invest or retain in• monies. vested money belonging to any trust and coming to his hands in any investment authorised by the trust instrument or (save as otherwise provided by that instrument) authorised by rule 6 for the investment of trust funds, and may (save if so provided) retain any investment existing at the date of the commencement of the trust : Provided that he shall not invest in or hold any investment in •such manner as to expose himself to liability as the holder thereof, unless he is satisfied that he is fully indemnified or secured against loss. It shall be lawful for the Public Trustee of Charities to vert ment•s. invest trust monies in his hands in any of the following se• curities :— (a) in bonds, debenture stock or other securities of the Govern• ment; (b) in a first mortgage of immovable property situated in Pal• estine : Provided that the value of such property exceeds by one third, or, if consisting wholly or mainly of buildings, exceeds by one half, the amount of the mortgage ; (c) in any security, other than immovable securities,authorised as a trustee investment by the law of England for the time being ; (d) in any other security expressly authorised by the instrument of trust; (e) in any investment approved by the Public Trustee of Chari• ties Investment Board constituted under rule 7. (2) The accounts of the Public Trustee of Charities shall be audited from time to time by the Government Auditor. 10. —(1) The Public Trustee of Charities may appoint such per• Power of Public son or persons as he shall think fit to act as his agents in any Trustee of particular trust or in any matter arising out of any trust. Charities to appoint agents. (2) The Public Trustee of Charities may, at his discretion, delegate to an agent any or all of the powers or duties conferred or imposed upon him. (3) Any agent •shall find security to the satisfaction of the Pub• lic Trustee of Charities for the performance of his duties and shall be remunerated either by salary or such fees as may from time to time be prescribed by the Public Trustee of Charities.
