Uvod1 1.1. Predmet i korpus istraživanja Osnovni predmet ovog rada jest podrijetlo i tumačenje leksičkih posuđenica u suvremenom srpskom jeziku, a koje u značajnoj mjeri u svojim stihovima veoma uspješno upotrebljava Đorđe Balašević. Bogati korpus za analizu predstavljalo je djelo samog umjetnika Dodir svile, a i mnoge različite web stranice država bivše Jugoslavije, ali i inozemstva, koje su posvećene svestranoj ličnosti novosadskog stvaraoca. * Grčka vojna akademija, Vari, GR- 16 673 Atena, [email protected] 1 Posebnu zahvalnost dugujem Jeleni Smiljanić, Jovani Pejović, Uni Ružić, Koraljki Crnković i Miljani Barjamović na velikoj pomoći i suštinskoj podršci. 44 Panajiotis Asimopulos Holon, 2 (3):44-93, 2012., Zagreb Multijezični mozaik u stihovima … 1.2. Život i glazbena karijera Đorđe Balašević rođen je 1953. godine u Novom Sadu. Prvi je uspeh postigao 1977. godine s popularnim hitom »U razdjeljak te ljubim«. Uskoro će uslijediti uspjesi s pjesmama »Prva ljubav«, »Panonski mornar« i album Odlazi cirkus. -

FILM FESTIVAL 22Nd - 29Th November 2012
UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA IN PRETORIA SERBIAN ARTS AND CULTURE SOCIETY AFRICA SERBIAN FILM FESTIVAL 22nd - 29th November 2012 NU METRO, MONTECASINO An author’s perspective of the world Film, as a sublimation of all arts, is a true medium, a universal vehicle with which the broader public is presented with a world view, as seen by the eye of the fi lmmaker. Nowadays, due to the global economic crisis, which is ironically producing technological and all sorts of other develop- ments, an increasing number of people are pushed to the margins of average standards of living, and fi lmmakers are given the chance to bring under their ‘protection’ millions of disillusioned people with their fi lmmaking capabilities. Art, throughout its history, has always praised but has also been heavily critical of its subject. Film is not just that. Film is that and so much more. Film is life itself and beyond life. Film is everything many of us dream about but never dare to say out loud. That is why people love fi lms. That is why it is eternal. It tears down boundaries and brings together cul- tures. It awakens curiosity and builds bridges from one far away coast to another. Film is a ‘great lie’ but an even greater truth. Yugoslavian, and today the Serbian fi lm industry has always been ‘in trend’. It might sound harsh but, unfortunately, this region has always provided ample ‘material’ for fi lms. Under our Balkan clouds there has been an ongoing battle about which people are older, which came and settled fi rst, who started it and who will be fi rst to leave and such battles have been and continue to be an inspiration to fi lm producers. -

Scientific paper Creation and Analysis of the Yugoslav Rock Song Lyrics Corpus from 1967 to 20031 UDC 811.163.41’322 DOI 10.18485/infotheca.2019.19.1.1 Ljudmila Petkovi´c ABSTRACT: The paper analyses the pro- [email protected] cess of creation and processing of the Yu- University of Belgrade goslav rock song lyrics corpus from 1967 to Belgrade, Serbia 2003, from the theoretical and practical per- spective. The data have been obtained and XML-annotated using the Python program- ming language and the libraries lyricsmas- ter/yattag. The corpus has been preprocessed and basic statistical data have been gener- ated by the XSL transformation. The diacritic restoration has been carried out in the Slovo Majstor and LeXimir tools (the latter appli- cation has also been used for generating the frequency analysis). The extraction of socio- cultural topics has been performed using the Unitex software, whereas the prevailing top- ics have been visualised with the TreeCloud software. KEYWORDS: corpus linguistics, Yugoslav rock and roll, web scraping, natural language processing, text mining. PAPER SUBMITTED: 15 April 2019 PAPER ACCEPTED: 19 June 2019 1 This paper originates from the author’s Master’s thesis “Creation and Analysis of the Yugoslav Rock Song Lyrics Corpus from 1945 to 2003”, which was defended at the University of Belgrade on March 18, 2019. Yugoslav Cinema
Egemia, 2018; 3: 31-49 31 TRANSFORMATION OF TRAUMATIC CHARACTERS IN POST- YUGOSLAV CINEMA Ahmet Ender UYSAL* ABSTRACT This study examines the changes Yugoslav cinema realized from the 1980s to the 2000s, and seeks to see the contributions of three important post-Yugoslav directors to the transformation of the cinema characters. The post-Yugoslav states emerged after the disintegration of Yugoslavia, and they underwent political and cultural changes as a result of the collapse of the former Yugoslav socialism and the post-civil war. Post- Yugoslav cinema, which took its share from these changes, experienced crises of national identity and modernization. Examining these changes in cinema with cinematic characters is also very important in terms of visualizing cultural and economic changes in a cinematic sense. The real problem here is where the boundary of this change will be drawn. This is because, although the characters in post-Yugoslavian cinema have been transformed, there is still some cinematic tradition that continues today. Post-Yugoslav cinema will therefore be considered within the period of 1980s. Keywords: Post-Yugoslav cinema, trauma, cinematic characters * Arş. The Music of the National Liberation Struggle and Social Engagement
Partisan Resistance Today? The Music of the National Liberation Struggle and Social Engagement Ana Hofman and Martin Pogačar They kept trying to smother the songs of resistance, but they did not smother them, ever, nor the spark of resistance, which was constantly smouldering here and there and burst into a flame of rebellion. (Hercigonja and Karakljajić 1962) Any interpretation of the past can only be a dissonant and dynamic, always political and without doubt a performative process. This spurs the emergence of and competition between alternative interpretations of the past that may also be understood as acts of opposition and even resistance to dominant and/or competing narratives. This is particu- larly clear when references to particular historical periods or events are problematised in daily political struggles and media discourses: recourse to alternate histories or the search for alternative visions of the past can thus be regarded as an attempt to devise a potential con- ceptual framework within which an articulation of alternative politics 21 (visions of the future) is possible. This carries with it certain (political) connotations that in the post-Yugoslav context are powered by the his- torical experience and perpetual reinterpretations of the national lib- eration struggle and antifascist resistance, as well as the entire period of socialist Yugoslavia – these periods have notably defined Yugoslav and contemporary social, (pop) cultural and political milieux, and the responses to it. In this essay, we discuss the shifting meanings and ascribed in- terpretations of the historical experience of the Yugoslav antifascist resistance as expressed through music. In an attempt to encourage this reflection on the musical expressions of the partisan resistance from a historical perspective, we primarily analyse scholarly works and media discourses and combine historical, musicological and cultural studies approaches. -
