Madrid survival guide for Premodern players Hi! I’m Francisco José Cumplido Rica, founder of MadridPremodern and I’ll guide you in the city where I live, Madrid. Madrid is really huge, and knowing all of the tricks to get around it will make for a better experience of the tournaments and the city in general. First, let’s have a look at the neighborhood where Tempest Store is located: Ciudad Lineal You see that Tempest Store is near two metro (underground) stations, Quintana and Pueblo Nuevo. Both are on line 5 (green) but Pueblo Nuevo is also on line 7 (orange) and the address is: Timoteo Domingo 17. Alcala Street is near the store, this means that is a really crowded street, but this part of the street (it’s the longest street of the city) is not as popular as the Puerta de Alcalá-Retiro- Manuel Becerra part. Hotels: Along the street starting from Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas (bullring) to Tempest Store there are some nice hotels to rest: Las Ventas: Hotel IBIS Las Ventas (prices around 53€ per night) Julio Camba street 1. Rafaelhoteles Ventas (prices around 55€ per night) Alcalá Street 269 El Carmen: Ibis Budget El Carmen (prices around 45€ per night) Siena street 10 Other hotels are around Arturo Soria street but I think they are really far from the store, these three hotels are the nearest. Bars and Restaurants: There some incredible bars and restaurants to eat good Spanish food: Docamar is one of the nearest bars from the Store and one of the most famous one in the city for its exquisite patatas bravas and Spanish food in general. Alcala Street 337 A Conchiña is other of the great bars of the city, famous for its Galician food, good wine and beverages. Benidorm Street 32 Cafeterias Wanna have a coffee? Let’s see what nice cafeterias are around Tempest Store: Cheap cafeteria for taking your breakfast away, nice pastry and pies. Café Ipanema, its pastries are really good, specially its palmeras de chocolate. Alcalá Street 355. My favorite one, nice hot chocolate and churros and porras (really typical Spanish!) Emilio Gastesi Fernandez street 3 How to go to the Store: If you wanna go to the store from the Airport (Madrid Airport is Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas) there are many forms you can do it: -Taking Taxi from the airport: the easiest way because there are many taxi there. -Taking Metro (underground): Barajas is on line 8 (purple) then you have two ways to go to the store: 1. Going to Nuevos Ministerios in the line 8 (purple one), then taking line 6 (grey) going to Avenida de América then taking there line 7 (orange) to Pueblo Nuevo. 2. Going to Nuevos Ministerios in the line 8 (purple), then taking line 6 (grey one) to Diego de León then taking there line 5 (green) to Quintana. There is more information about prices and the entire Metro lines here on this page: https://www.metromadrid.es/en -Taking Uber/Cabify: there is no booth on the airport, then you have to take them in Nuevos Ministerios, but it’s a nice form to go. -Taking Bus: there is a special bus line from the airport but the final destination is Atocha (really far from the store) If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected] or in the Premodern FB group or See you there! .
