NRHA & AQHA REINING EVENT

General Show Information:

Each exhibitor is required to read and follow the Colorado State Fair General Competition Requirements, the Horse Show Competition & Entry Requirements, the American Quarter Horse Association Rules, and the National Reining Horse Association Rules. Entries are available online at www.coloradostatefair.com. All entries are fillable online forms that can be directly emailed to the horse show office. No payment is required until time of check-in. AQHA exhibitors must show proof of current membership and correct ownership on AQHA horse papers.

Green Horse Classes: these classes are non-approved NRHA classes. Horses cannot have earned $100 in NRHA earnings as of Jan. 1 of the present year.

Green Reiner Classes: These are NRHA approved classes. Green Reiner exhibitors must follow NRHA rules in order to compete. Green Reiner 1 - $200/75 youth points (exclude SS) / 200 green points (NRHA Lifetime) and Green Reiner 2 - $350/175 youth points (exclude SS) / 350 green points (NRHA Lifetime)

NRHA Rules: This event will adhere and follow the following rules. ● Entries for all classes held the next day will close at 6pm the day prior. Draws will be posted each night on the bulletin board outside the office and on the CSF Horse Show Updates group page on Facebook. ● Exhibitors entering after the posted closing time or whether the draw has been posted or not, will draw in the office for their work order, either first or last. ● All new horses entered after August 13th will be charged a $50/horse late fee. ● Must provide the show office with copies of all current membership cards and Horse License at check in. ● Prime Time Rookie exhibitors must enter the Rookie Level 1 or 2. ● All NRHA 2021 rules apply and all classes will pay back on schedule A. ● CSF accepts payment in the form of credit card, money order, check, or cash. ● Derby Rules – open to 4, 5, and 6-year-old horses of any breed. To be shown one handed in any legal bridle or two handed in snaffle or hackamore. ● Maturity Rules – open to 7 and older horses of any breed. To be shown one handed in any legal bridle. ● Refer to daily schedule for start times each day and class list ● Refer to the Class Closing Time sheet for daily class closings.

NRHA Awards: Trophies and plaques will be awarded accordingly to the champions of each NRHA class and reserve awards will be awarded as well. AQHA classes are point classes only. Youth Freestyle Champion will receive a Champion NRHA bronze & belt buckle. Freestyle awards for all exhibitors plus a cash award for best choreography.

Health Requirements: 7-day current health certificate is required for all in-state and out of state exhibitors. Out of state exhibitors must also have a current yearly negative coggins. These requirements are set by the Colorado State Veterinarians and are subject to change as we get closer to fair. Please check the Colorado State Fair website prior to coming for any updates on the health requirements.

Stall Reservations: All stalls must be reserved and paid for by August 13, 2021. If received after August 13th CSF will charge a $50 late fee per owner. Reservation forms are available online to print, fill out, and mail or fax to CSF with payment. Stall reservations are not allowed via email with payment. Fax forms and payment to, (719) 561-2035 or mail them to: CSF/Horse Show Dept. 1001 Beulah Ave. Pueblo, CO 81004. Reminder: No outside bedding is allowed; exhibitors must purchase all bedding from the CSF Feed & Bedding Concessionaire.

Camping: All camping reservations must be made through the Colorado State Fair camping department. The Horse Show department does not handle any camping reservations. To reserve a camping spot please call Tracey at (719) 404-2023. Spots fill up fast so please call early.
