USEF SAFE SPORT TRAINING REQUIREMENTS TO COMPETE All USEF Life and Senior Active members, as well as participants who have regular contact with minor athletes, are required to comply with the U.S. Center for SafeSport training requirement to be eligible to participate in the competition. All participants must adhere to the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, USEF Safe Sport Policy, and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies. This may include, but not be limited to, wearing face masks/covering, social distancing, minimal contact between staff/volunteers and competitors, temperature checks, and limited or spaced stabling. Competitors will be updated through group and social media communication as to the safety protocols which this show will operate with, as this is a fluid dynamic situation that changes rapidly within each state and region. Show entry must be received by closing date or incur late fee (and only accepted if space is available).

Completed entries (all signatures, negative Coggins, rabies and flu/rhino vaccination documentation, copy of correct association numbers and payment) to be mailed to the Show Secretary. Entries without current and correct association number verification will be considered incomplete and the incomplete entry fee applies for each show entry.

Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, based on postmark date and entries may be limited. Those entries postmarked after closing will be accepted at the discretion of the show secretary, based on a space available basis and charged the late fee per show. If the classes are oversubscribed, a wait list (in order of receipt) will be maintained. Management reserve the right to refuse any entry. Entry Forms: Each competitor is responsible for supplying the show management with the correct and required association numbers of USEF and USDF for the horse, owner, rider/handler, trainer and coach, a current negative Coggins, rabies and flu/rhino documentation before the day(s) of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not count towards national awards. Membership and registration number must be included on the entry form. No telephone entries will be accepted. ALL FEES MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRY. Entries without payment in full will be returned. A $50 NSF fee will be charged if a check is not honored by competitor's financial institution. Funds must be made good within 10 business days and must be in the form of a cashier's check or money order and include the $50 fee. See USEF GR913 Unpaid Entries. Entries must be in secretary’s hands by closing date. Entries received after the closing date will be accepted if there is space available and accompanied by the late entry fee (per show) on a space-available basis. Only one horse/rider combination per entry form per show.

Entry Cancellation/Refunds: Office fee and online convenience fees are not refundable. Entries with written cancellation on or before the closing date will receive full refund of all fees minus the office and online convenience fees. NO REFUNDS after Closing Date except fees collected on behalf of USEF (drug fees) and USDF (qualifying fees). Scratches During Show: Competitors have the responsibility to inform the Show Secretary in the Show Office of their intent to scratch a ride prior to the scheduled ride time. Competitor or representative must contact the show office to officially scratch their ride. Scratched rides are not refundable. USEF Show Pass (non-member) Fee: To be eligible to compete as a rider, handler, owner, lessee, agent, coach, or trainer at a USEF Licensed Competition an individual must be a USEF Senior Active, Junior Active, or Life member (GR202.1). Individuals unable to present proof of membership are required to complete a Show Pass Form and pay a fee in the amount of $45.

USDF Non-member Fee: For each USDF non-member owner/lessee and USDF non-member rider, there will be a USDF non- member fee of $35 per competition. Entries in Introductory and Opportunity classes are exempt from this requirement.

USEF/USDF Horse ID Requirement: All horses entered in USEF/USDF recognized shows must at least have a USDF HID (Horse Identification) number in order to participate. If riding in qualifying classes, you must have a USDF Lifetime Registration in addition to a USEF Annual or Lifetime Recording. Exempt from this requirement are horses showing in Introductory Level, Opportunity Classes, Pas de Deux, Quadrille, and exhibitions. These horse identification numbers may be obtained from USEF and USDF.

Great American/USDF Qualifying Classes: Qualifying classes will not require a separate ride. All exhibitors riding in the Open, Adult Amateur, & Junior/Young Rider classes will pay an additional $15 USDF fee to have this score entered in the USDF qualifying class at that level. No separate ribbons or prizes will be awarded Please add a “Q” next to each class on the entry and add the additional $15 to the entry form.

West Virginia Coggins/Health Certificate Law: Equine residing in West Virginia: A current negative Coggins for EIA conducted within 12 months of the show date. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection is not required for West Virginia equine. Equine entering West Virginia: All equine entering West Virginia must be accompanied by a current negative Coggins test for EIA conducted within 12 months of the show date and a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days of entry.

WVU Health Requirements: All equine visiting the WVU facility are REQUIRED to provide a negative Coggins and proof of rabies vaccination within 12 months of the show dates and flu/rhino vaccinations within 6 months of the show dates. Please provide these documents with your entry form. The horse name on the Coggins report and vaccination documentation MUST MATCH the horse’s USEF registered name as listed on the entry form and on their USEF/USDF horse identification or recording documents, or it will not be accepted (USEF GR907.4).

Pony Riders/Pony Measurement: If you don’t have a measurement card for the pony, you must notify the Show Secretary in writing with your entry. You will need to schedule an appointment to have this done prior to your first pony test and are required to pay the veterinarian fee for this service. A pony does not exceed 148 cm without shoes and 149 cm with shoes. Any pony competing in classes limited to must submit a copy of a USEF measurement certificate with each entry.

Confirmation/Times: Unofficial ride times and show updates will be posted by the Monday prior to the at www.ShowSecretary.com. An entry confirmation will be e-mailed to rider. E-mail addresses are required and must be clearly printed. It is the responsibility of the rider to inform show management of any time conflicts as soon as possible after reviewing the schedule. Management reserves the right to change the time schedule after tentative times have been posted. A list of final ride times will be available on www.showsecretary.com by noon on Friday for Saturday’s competition day and by noon on Saturday for Sunday’s competition day. Check the scoreboard daily for any changed times. This show follows USEF GR830 with regard to rescheduled ride times.

Bedding: Preordered bedding is $8 per bag. Bedding must be preordered on the entry form. Due to COVID guidelines all bedding must be preordered by Tuesday before the show.

Horse Stabling/Tack Stall Fees: There are 2 types of indoor stabling to choose from. Please mark clearly on your entry form which stabling you want. Stall requests honored when possible. Main Barn stabling are 10x10 permanent solid stall walls and solid doors with bars on asphalt base. Extra bedding is recommended. Main barn stabling will be assigned on a first come/first serve basis. Block Barn stabling are 10x10 cement block stall walls and solid doors with bars on a rubber matted floor. For stallions it is recommended to stable in the Block Barn. Tack Stalls are $100 in either Main or Block Barn No initial bedding is provided. Competitors are responsible for stall damage. Stalls are available on Friday at noon. No early arrivals allowed this year. If competing at both shows, please enter stall/tack fees for the show weekend on the Almost Heaven Dressage 1 show entry form. SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN STALL AREAS

West Virginia Equestrian Activities Responsibility Act W. Va. Code § 20-4-4 (1994) It is recognized that equestrian activities are hazardous to participants, regardless of all feasible safety measures which can be taken. Each participant in an equestrian activity expressly assumes the risk of and legal responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to person or property which results from participation in an equestrian activity. Each participant shall have the sole individual responsibility for knowing the range of his or her own ability to manage, care for, and control a particular horse or perform a particular equestrian activity, and it shall be the duty of each participant to act within the limits of the participant's own ability, to maintain reasonable control of the particular horse or horses at all times while participating in an equestrian activity, to heed all posted warnings, to perform equestrian activities only in an area or in facilities designated by the horseman and to refrain from acting in a manner which may cause or contribute to the injury of anyone. If while actually riding in an equestrian event, any participant collides with any object or person, except an obviously intoxicated person of whom the horseman is aware, or if the participant falls from the horse or from a horse-drawn conveyance, the responsibility for such collision or fall shall be solely that of the participant or participants involved and not that of the horseman. A participant involved in an accident shall not depart from the area or facility where the equestrian activity took place without leaving personal identification, including name and address, or without notifying the proper authorities, or without obtaining assistance when that person knows or reasonably should know that any other person involved in the accident is in need of medical or other assistance.

Musical Freestyles: Music for all freestyles on CD in WAV must be given to the show office upon arrival to show grounds and check in to show office. Sound checks will be conducted Friday afternoon. Other times must be arranged with show management. The times for sound checks will be posted in the show office. Competitors are responsible to picking up their music before the end of the show. Music left will not be mailed. DR129.9 Except for USEF/USDF Championship classes and for FEI Pony Riders, FEI Junior, FEI Young Rider and FEI Para-Equestrian Freestyles, in order to enter a freestyle class at any level, a horse/rider combination must have received a minimum score of 63% for Training through Fourth levels and 60% for FEI levels in the highest test of the declared freestyle level or any test of a higher level at a USEF/USDF licensed Dressage Competition or FEI recognized Dressage Competition or “open” Dressage class (i.e. open to all breeds) at a Federation Licensed Competition held prior to the competition where the horse/rider combination is entered to ride a freestyle class. Arenas/Footing: Outdoor competition arena is Standard 20m x 60m. Footing in outdoor competition arena, warm-up and separate longing area is a sand mixture. Indoor competition arena is Standard 20m x 60m. Footing in indoor competition arena is a sand fiber blend. Longing is allowed only in the designated longing area and not in the warm-up arena. Schooling may be permitted in the competition arena, weather permitting, on Friday and at the conclusion of scheduled competition rides in the arena each day. Management may elect to run some classes, Introductory & Training Level classes, in a small arena if necessary, provided the test is designed for a Small Arena. IT WILL PLACE YOU ON EVEN SMALLER, CURVY ROADS! If coming from the North, best choice is to proceed from I-79 or Mon Fayette Expressway Rt. 43 to I-68. We DO NOT recommend taking exit 155 from I-79 (Star City Exit). It will take you through downtown Morgantown with more stoplights than necessary. Directions from I-68 to 155 WVU Reedsville Farm Drive, Reedsville, WV 26547 (25 minutes) • From I-68 take Exit 4/Route 7 (Sabraton) • Follow Route 7 East towards Masontown/Reedsville • Follow Route 7 East for 13.2 miles • Pass thru the town of Masontown • Pass the Save-A-Lot, Subway, and Dairy Queen in Reedsville • Turn R at the 4-way stop sign in Reedsville onto the Kingwood Pike • Follow the Kingwood Pike for 0.9 miles • The farm is on the Left.

Awards: Riders must clearly specify division choice. When no designation is made, riders will automatically be entered as Open.

Introductory through FEI levels - Ribbon 1st through 6th place in each division listed in class list. Qualifying classes (GAIG/USDF) are run concurrently with your division class and there will be no separate ribbons awarded. Level Champions for the weekend will be awarded at each USDF/USEF level (Intro through Fourth) and combined FEI, for each division (O, AA, JR-YR) and will be distributed on Sunday. One Freestyle Champion will be awarded (all freestyle classes will be combined as Open). You must ride in at least 1 class at a level to be eligible (either Saturday or Sunday). The championship will be awarded to the horse/rider combination with the highest score at the level. Excludes Young Horse, Developing Horse, Dressage Seat Equitation, Materiale, and Opportunity class scores. Breed Awards: Awards will be presented on Sunday for the high point ride of the weekend for each registry. These include, American Hanoverian Society, American Association, Association, Association of North America, KWPN of North America*, Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society NA Division of GOV, Performance Horse Registry, Rheinland Pfalz-Saar International, Westphalian Association, Jockey Club Incentive program (T.I.P.), North American Danish , IAHLA, DRAFT/DRAFT Cross, , and TANA. *Owner must submit proof of association membership. A copy of breed registration papers must be submitted with the show entry for all breed awards or emailed to Lindsey Saad. If entering the shows online, you may email copies of papers & memberships for all breeds except KWPN of North America. Paperwork for this breed must be received before the show. Important notice to all affected parties: Third parties may come upon the property or enter the facilities where any herein described or listed event will occur; provided, that this is a license to enter the premises, for the purpose of observing or participating in the event, but not otherwise, and such license to any individual is subject to revocation by the owner, lessee or organizer, and entry for any purpose other than granted herein, shall be deemed criminal trespass and subject to appropriate legal proceedings. Property Damage: All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage occurred by them, their agents or employees to stalls, buildings and other property on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly. Hazardous Weather/Acts of God/Accident/Emergency Policy: Management reserves the right to cancel any classes due to Hazardous Weather, Acts of God, Accidents or Emergencies. Every effort will be made to reschedule with priority given to any Championship or qualifying classes being offered. Announcements: Class announcements and ride time announcements are a courtesy to the exhibitor and not all shows provide the capability of public address announcements. Exhibitors are responsible for presenting themselves to the ring at their designated time and accept the full responsibility for doing so. Competitions offering public announcements will make every effort to maintain a working PA system, but it is stressed that it is still the exhibitors’ responsibility to be on time. No protest will be upheld, nor any ride time changed, based on a PA breakdown or missed announcement. Ring stewards will also make every effort to keep people informed and entering the ring in a timely fashion. Exhibitors are responsible for knowing the correct show time and their scheduled performance time regardless of PA announcements or ring stewards.

Classes per Day: Horses are limited to a maximum of three Dressage rides per day at Fourth Level and below or two Dressage rides per day above Fourth Level. Horses competing at both Fourth Level and Prix St. Georges, or their equivalents, are limited to two Dressage rides per day. Dressage Seat Equitation, Quadrille, Pas de Deux and Materiale classes are excluded from the maximum limit of rides per day and horses in these classes may compete at any level for which they are otherwise eligible during the same competition.

GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule All horses showing or non-showing, must have vaccination records documenting they have been vaccinated for Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) within six months of entering the show grounds BUT should be no later than 7 days before the show. See USEF GR845 as a reference.

Helmet Policy: From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds, including non-competing riders, riders on non-competing horses, mounted participants in exhibition classes and those competing in all classes and tests, including Para-Equestrian tests, must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and properly fitted." Sharps Disposal: Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in housing competition horses. It is competition management’s responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. If local law has different requirements, local law will prevail. Motorized Vehicle Statement in accordance with GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above-described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for penalties against those responsible for the child committing the offense. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. The unsafe use of personal electronic transport devices, as determined by the competition officials and management in their sole discretion, that do not require a driver’s license to operate, including but not limited to Segway’s, hover boards, and single wheeled scooters is prohibited on competition grounds. Operating such devices in areas where people gather may be deemed “unsafe use” if there is a risk of harm to others. If the operator of the device is a minor, the parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating the device in violation of this rule is accountable and may be subject to penalties. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Competitions at the Modified Level or above and Combined Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Breeding classes. Non-US. Citizens and Foreign Competitors must provide proof, in English, of current membership in good standing in their respective National Federation or hold current membership in good standing with the USEF. Dogs Must be On Leashes at All Times While On Show Grounds: (includes stable areas) Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be held on a leash or otherwise restrained. Individuals must not dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from their dogs’ behaviors. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule will be issued a Yellow warning card and may be subject to penalty under Chapters 6 and 7. (GR1301.6) No other pets or livestock other than horses and allowed on grounds. Show Schedule and Ride Time Conflicts: It is the responsibility of the rider to inform the management of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving the schedule. No Shows: All “No Shows” that have not contacted the show office will be considered a scratch for the rest of the show and time slots may be filled. Exhibitors enter with this understanding and agreement. Riders Under the Age of 14: No rider under the age fourteen is permitted to ride a three-year old colt, or of any age, in any under saddle class including Dressage Sport Horse Prospect Under Saddle, Materiale and Suitability classes. DR202.13 Consecutive Levels: Horses may enter no more than two consecutive levels, Freestyle levels included, at any one competition.

Medication: Exhibitors should exercise extreme caution before medicating their horses and should be aware of the US EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION rules governing drugs and medications. Open Classes - A class that is open to all. There are no restrictions based on the horse (age, sex, size, residence or membership of owner) or rider (age, experience, qualifications, sex, residence, etc.) Adult Amateur Classes - Participants must possess a current USEF Amateur Card and qualify under the USEF Amateur rules. Any non-member that wishes to participate in the Adult Amateur designated classes must purchase a USEF non- member amateur card for $45 from USEF. Open to Adult Amateurs only; riders must compete as adults from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 22. JR/YR Classes - Open to Junior and Young Riders only; any rider is eligible until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 21. Only riders ages 14-18 may ride FEI JR Tests. Only riders age 16-21 may ride FEI YR Tests. Only riders ages 12-16 may ride FEI Pony Tests. Must include birth date on entry form. Adult Amateur Vintage Classes - A restricted class that is not open to all. Adult Amateur Vintage Classes are open to any Adult Amateur rider 50 years of age or older. These classes are eligible as a GAIG/USDF Regional Championship qualifier. Pony Classes - Open to all breeds that meet the following measurement requirements. A pony is an animal that does not exceed 148 cm without shoes and 149 cm with shoes. The pony can be of any sex (mare, stallion, or ). Opportunity Classes: Opportunity classes are intended for entry level riders. Horses and riders entered only in “Opportunity” classes are exempt from USEF and USDF membership requirements, and do not have to pay non-member (show pass) or HID fees. Federation and drug fees do not apply. Horses entered only in these classes are still subject to and must comply with the Drugs and Medication rules and are subject to drug testing. Riders and/or horses entered in “opportunity” classes may not cross enter into other recognized classes at the show. Participants must abide by all USEF regulations pertaining to attire, tack and equipment for the recognized show. Reference GR821 for additional information. Trainer: is defined as any adult (18 & older) who has responsibility for the care, custody, or performance of the horse while the horse is on the competition grounds. This adult must sign the entry form as trainer. This adult may be a parent for a rider under 18 years of age. Coach: is defined as an adult (18 $ older) who gets paid for instruction, teaching, schooling, or advising a rider with their horse on the competition grounds. This adult must sign the entry form as coach.

You must compete in a pony division to be recognized by NDPC

A horse must always wear their Number when not in a stall; which includes when a horse is being ridden or exercised.

Management reserves the right to change officials, limit entries, combine or cancel classes, and modify the schedule, and to modify or cancel awards and/or make whatever changes are required by circumstances to the competition specifications listed herein. Show Management reserves the right to cancel classes insufficiently filled and to refuse or require withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed sufficient by Show Management.

All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the show management whose decision shall be final.

Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the horse show management, but management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this horse show and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or accident to his horse, employees, equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.

The management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit entries and cancel award prizes without claims for damages; to cancel or combine unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges.

Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the owner, manager, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees.

Show management reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the ring and to remove any groom or horse from the show without being liable for compensation.

No person will be allowed in the show ring during the time of judging except the exhibitor and those having official or requested duties to perform.

It is the tradition of the show that riders be correctly attired for the class in question, that attendants be neatly dressed and the horses properly presented. Management may in its discretion bar any person from entering the ring if not suitable presented to appear before an audience.

JW Ruby Research Farm Rules

DOGS ✓ You must always keep your dog on a leash ✓ You must pick up after your dogs; there is no location on this farm that is acceptable to leave dog poop, it should be bagged and in trash cans ✓ Dogs that are a nuisance to other people, other dogs, or disruptive to the horses at the show will be required to leave the grounds with their owners

WVU STABLING AREA AND PASTURES ARE OFF LIMITS TO THE PUBLIC ✓ This is part of a strict biosecurity protocol that helps keep visiting horses and WVU horses safe, and visiting horses welcome at our farm

HORSES SHOULD NOT BE TIED OUT TO TRAILERS IN GRAVEL PARKING LOTS ✓ Visiting horses should be stabled on site, or if hauling in, be parked in the grass field across the road

KEEP THE GRAVEL PARKING LOTS CLEAN FROM MANURE, BEDDING, AND HAY ✓ Clean up any manure and bedding that comes out of your trailer when you unload ✓ Do not dump dirty water buckets in the gravel parking lots; dump in the drains provided in the multipurpose building or in the grassy areas outside of the stall barn ✓ All manure on site should make its way to the manure bunks provided; there is one behind the multipurpose building and near the middle of the stall barn ✓ Haul-in horses - Do not leave hay and manure piled up around your trailer

BATHE HORSES ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS ✓ Wash racks are provided off the of the multipurpose building and behind the trailer near the stall barn

ALL TRASH SHOULD BE IN THE CANS OR DUMPSTER PROVIDED ✓ Show management has extra trash bags if you need them; please bag and tie your trash closed and place in the dumpster before you leave
