Novice, Age Groups & Senior Groups

8 & Under Sizzler at Sunrise, September 22 Pine Crest Swimming attended their first Sizzler of the season with nine swimmers. Congratulations to our first time competitors—Mckenzie Baur, Olivia Burns, Vivien Itskovich, and Kyle Jensen. Jared Berke competed in his last Sizzler before he turns nine with fantastic results. He improved in all his 25 yard events and also won every race, he broke the 8 & under club record in the 25 fly with a time of 15.95 and the 25 back with a time of 17.78. Charly Fischer had 3 best times, dropping a whopping 9.29 seconds in the 25 breast, 3.73 seconds in the 25 free and 1.95 seconds in the 25 fly where she finished in 4th place overall.

Zachary Johnson also swam in his last Sizzler before he turns 9 years old. He dropped time in the 25 free and finished in 8th place in the 25 back and 25 breast events.

Joe Paden had a great meet with 3 new best times. He dropped 6.82 seconds in the 25 fly, 3.44 seconds in the 25 back, 7.67 seconds in the 25 free, and also swam the 25 breast for the first time where he finished in 6th place. Our team of 8 & Under’s at the first Sophia Santos, our only 6 & under Sizzler of the school year season girl, did great with 3 new best times. She dropped 3.24 seconds in the 25 fly, 2.78 seconds in the 25 back, 4.32 seconds in the 25 breast, and finished in 2nd and 3rd place for all her events. Club Record Breaker Jared Berke

Congratulations to Maureen Croes on being selected for the Media Committee for FINA. Maureen is no stranger to our team, as she currently has her son—Patrick Groters, swimming in the National Group, while her other son—Jordy Groters is a senior at the University of Missouri. She was also known as Coach Mo when she assisted coaching the Novice group in 2014-2015.

The powers and duties of the Media Committee are:

 to offer guidance and advice to the FINA Communications Department, particularly in relation to the organisation of major competitions, - to assist the FINA Communications Department in reaching and staying in contact with a network of journalists around the world who cover aquatic sports, - to assist the Organising Committees of FINA competitions in order to ensure the best possible facilities for journalists, photographers and other media personnel as per FINA regulations, - to advise the FINA Communications Department in what services and information are required by the media worldwide and in what formats and platforms the media are most likely to wish to receive information, - to assist in updating and implementing the FINA Media Guide for FINA competitions, and - to offer advice to the FINA Communications Department on the best way to promote FINA and the image of its Aquatic sports throughout the world. http://fina.org/gms-function/media-committee
