Santa Cesarea Terme Spa has an agreement with the National Health Service and allows everyone to benefit of a session of spa treatments all year long, by showing the prescription from your family doctor or the pediatrician or specialist ASL.
The prescription, valid until December 31 of the current year, must contain: • the pathology and the session of the treatment recommended. (see list of the pathologies D.M. 12/15/1994) • a code of the copay exemption. (see existing legislation for the copay)
Workers can benefit of a treatment at the expense of INAIL in case of occupational disease recognized and certified by INAIL (Italian government agency for the insurance against work-related injuries) itself.

8 WHY QUIT SMOKING?
The reasons for starting smoking are countless, and once you start two types of addiction are triggered: the physics one due to nicotine and whose abstinence causes withdrawal symptoms and the psychological one since the cigarette is used as a ritual, a habit, a company, or to hide emotions. Considering all the damage that smoking causes on an organic level and on a psychological dependence level it would be fundamental for a smoker to change his "habit" and his "behavior" towards the use of cigarette. Therefore, in order to make a breakthrough, the smoker should find tools, strategies and services that offer a valuable help. Indeed, for many people smoking is a pleasant moment characterized by a feeling of relaxation, which apparently allows the smoker to better deal with problems,situations of tension and socialization. For these reasons, quitting smoking requires a personalized pathway that is not the same for everyone and depends on various factors such as: how long one has been smoking, the amount of cigarettes and the motivation to embark upon a path to smoking cessation. Moreover, the smoker who decides to stop smoking should use an approach that takes into account both the organic and psychological aspects in order to cope with his/her difficulties and achieve the goal of giving up smoking. Although there are various methods to quit smoking, the most effecient one are the integrated ones that put more emphasis in the person as a whole as well as guide, support and help him/her to develop potential resources aimed at achieving desired goal.

9 CHILDREN AT SPA: Prevention of pathologies of the first airways
The prevention of pathologies of the first airways in pediatric age assumes, as known, an increasingly important value, given the frequency of flu episodes that tend to weaken the organic defenses, increasing the number of infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract (rhinitis, bronchitis, adenoiditis, tonsillitis, otitis). The constant increase of these diseases in pediatric age finds its greatest cause in the polluting and irritating substances of the surrounding atmospheric environment, which alter the normal defensive barriers. The inflammation of the upper areas is manifested more frequently in winter and spring, often forcing children to give up the normal educational and training activities and to increasingly take pharmacological therapies. In order to prevent and treat these diseases, the thermal waters are still the most effective, natural and without side effects remedy, able to stimulate the immune system, by improving the health of children and reducing the use of pharmacological therapy. 1. In order to benefit of a spa treatment is compulsory to book.
2. The booking entitles the holder to carry out a compulsory medical examination and the admittance in the days and at the times designated by the spa calendar.
3. The spa guest who fails to turn up at the medical examination will lose, automatically, the right of the scheduled treatment time and the shift.
4. It is compulsory show your own valid health card and the prescription at the time of the medical examination and admittance .
5. If a booked treatment isn't cancelled at least 24 hours before to carry it out, it will be paid anyway. If a treatment by payment isn't carried out, it can’t be, in any case, reimbursable.
6. The treatments by payment must be carried out by December 22 of the current year.
7. In order to benefit of some treatments, an ECG (valid for 90 days) at the request of the doctor could be needed. The ECG can be paid at Gattulla’s.
8. It is possible to withdraw the certificate of the carried out treatments at Gattulla’s or Palazzo’s.
9. To achieve efficacious and long-lasting therapeutic levels it is strongly recommended to carry continuously the treatment out with a duration of not less than 12-15 days.
10. It is recommended to repeat the session of treatments two times a year, preferably spaced 5-6 months. 11. Spa treatments may be provided to patients from 2 years of age.
12. In case of pathologies in acute phase, spa treatments must be avoided.
13. Baths, muds, hydromassage, vaginal douches should be suspended during the menstrual cycle. As for pregnant women, balneotherapy and mud are contraindicated.
14. For the treatments of thermal muds, thermal baths. hydromassage, it is strongly recommend to fast or start the treatment after at least two hours away from meals.
15. During the first week of treatment you may experience a reaction of your organism with particular side effects ( thermal reaction ) . In that case, please contact the medical staff of the spa.
