2019 WIAA Mat Classic and State Gymnastics TACOMA DOME PARKING INFORMATION Feb. 15-16

The Tacoma Dome will have $15 cash or credit parking for patrons attending the WIAA Mat Classic on February 15-16.

The Tacoma Dome no longer allows RVs to park in Tacoma Dome lots overnight. The RV parking lot (I Lot) has been stripped of the hook-ups, and is no longer available for RV parking. RVs may park on a daily basis at $15/space the RV takes up in A Lot, C Lot, or on Brotman Way, but must leave once the event has concluded each day.

Alternate parking options are available in the downtown area including Park Plaza, Convention Center Parking, North Pacific Plaza and Vision Deuce. On Saturday only, the following lots may also be available: Union Station, 13th & Pacific, and 14th & Pacific. From these lots take the Tacoma Link light rail with departures along Commerce Street every 12 minutes to the Sound Transit/Pierce Transit Tacoma Dome Station located 3 blocks north of the Tacoma Dome. The Link light rail is free.

Directions to downtown lots: From North & South I-5 take exit 133 to I-705. Take the 15th Street or “A” Street exit, see map below.

NOTE: Friday, the Sound Transit/Pierce Transit Tacoma Dome Station and Downtown parking lots may be near capacity due to business commuters.

Construction The widening of I-5 through Tacoma continues. The McKinley Bridge that runs just South of the Tacoma Dome opened in November after being closed for two years. However, the L Street Bridge, which is ¼ mile East of the Tacoma Dome is scheduled to be closed during Mat Classic, and for the next two years.

Valid WIAA issued Tacoma Dome parking pass holders are STRONGLY ADVISED to exit I-5 at Portland Ave (Exit 135 Southbound), (Exit 134 Northbound) and proceed to their designated lot via Wiley Street. The Dome officials have been told that the intersection at Wiley and L Street will remain open, but the bridge will be closed.

Tacoma Link Light Rail Schedule and Map

Getting around downtown Tacoma – and the region – is a lot easier with Tacoma Link. Sound Transit’s light rail system connects the Tacoma Dome Station (a regional hub for local and express bus, and commuter train service) with downtown Tacoma. Link trains run every 12 minutes, Monday through Saturday. Best of all, Tacoma Link is FREE!
