  • The Role of Folk Phraseology in the Enrichment of Literary Work (Case: Mitrush Kuteli)
1st International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference 2018 UDC: 81'373.7 THE ROLE OF FOLK PHRASEOLOGY IN THE ENRICHMENT OF LITERARY WORK (CASE: MITRUSH KUTELI) Rovena Vata The Academy of Albanological Studies, Tirana, Albania E-mail: [email protected] ABSTRACT itrush Kuteli is one of the most prominent authors of Albanian literature known as a multidimensional man, but his strongest connection has been with the field of paper works. He is often evaluated by two important achievements, which distinguish him among the authors of M Albanian literature of all time. Mitrush Kuteli is the creator of the Albanian modern prose and one of the most famous authors of Albanian modernity. The Kutelian narrative as a narrative process carries the constant presence of the narrator's voice, where Albanian reality appears to be broken, seen from many sides, sometimes close to the real and sometimes close to fantasy. In his narratives, the author emerges in the second plan, leaving room for the folk language, for the use of the language of folklore and especially of the folk phraseology. The folk phraseology used by Mitrush Kuteli has played an important role in enriching the literary work. Through folk phraseology he enriches everyday life, habits, rituals and Albanian traditions, using the language of truthfulness. Kuteli is among the deepest connoisseurs of this phraseology. The folk phraseology inherited from generation to generation constitutes a fundamental matter in the enrichment of the literary work, which complements and widens the literary work, by giving it meaningful, stylistic, emotional and expressive hues. Keywords: Phraseological l units expressing: congratulations, curses, life, death, morality.

  • Albanian Language and Literature”
International Journal of Humanities and Social Science Vol. 5, No. 10; October 2015 Theme: Gender Education of Secondary Schools Students through the Subject “Albanian Language and Literature” Marta Topçiu Lagja, KALA Pall. SMT Pogradec ALBANIA “Differently from novels and essays, the textbooks have not the power to stir debates, objections or revolutions. They wisely convey the spirit of an era” A witness to the evolution of the human societies, textbooks are at the same time transformational instruments: they also present a model of what the society is or is meant to be by its citizens.1 It is a mirror, more reasonable than we could think, of the often abstract requirements of the policies and program in the sphere of education. By analyzing them, we have been able to get an overview of the society itself, its mindset, social problems, and gender profile. The article is aimed at pointing out what the high-schoolers learn from their textbooks about their being males or females? Aubin 2006 “Albanian language and literature 10” In the Albanian language and literature books some gender stereotypes are noticed, because in most cases the role of a woman is limited to being a mother. Even if we see their professions, they are typical feminine. In the selected parts, in most cases, the woman comes as an object of beauty. She appears as such in the great Hugo’s works, through Esmeralda in “Notre dame de Paris”, Odette in “Love of a Swan” from Daniel Proust, and the Dulcinea del Toboso – the sweet and beautiful villager of Don Quixote.

Fine, Co-Chair Professor Fatma Müge Göçek Professor Mary Kelley Professor Rudi Lindner Barbara Reeves-Ellington, University of Oxford © Nevila Pahumi 2016 For my family ii Acknowledgements This project has come to life thanks to the support of people on both sides of the Atlantic. It is now the time and my great pleasure to acknowledge each of them and their efforts here. My long-time advisor John Fine set me on this path. John’s recovery, ten years ago, was instrumental in directing my plans for doctoral study. My parents, like many well-intended first generation immigrants before and after them, wanted me to become a different kind of doctor. Indeed, I made a now-broken promise to my father that I would follow in my mother’s footsteps, and study medicine. But then, I was his daughter, and like him, I followed my own dream. When made, the choice was not easy. But I will always be grateful to John for the years of unmatched guidance and support. In graduate school, I had the great fortune to study with outstanding teacher-scholars. It is my committee members whom I thank first and foremost: Pamela Ballinger, John Fine, Rudi Lindner, Müge Göcek, Mary Kelley, and Barbara Reeves-Ellington.

Robert Elsie, one of the few Albanologists working in English, has brought attention to Albanian literaturre by way of several books of translation as well as critical works on politics, culture, history and individual authors. There is as yet no significant body of literary criticism which analyzes broad thematic trends and poetic memes in texts from a variety of periods and places. This essay seeks to serve as a foundatiion for this kind of synthetic scholarship. Through close readings of poems from the beginnings of Albanian literature to today on the inter-related themes of exile and nostalgia, this work emphasizes the evolution of Albanian attitudes about colonization and independence as they are viewed from at home and inn the diaspora. • Myth and Antimyth in the Fictions of Socialist Realism in Albania
ISSN 2411-9598 (Print) European Journal of May-August 2015 ISSN 2411-4103 (Online) Language and Literature Studies Volume 1 Issue 2 Myth and Antimyth in the Fictions of Socialist Realism in Albania Msc. Laureta Misiri [email protected] Abstract The process of formation of socialist realism in literary creativity goes hand in hand with the crystallization of social awareness "down", within the psychology of the masses and "up", with the strengthening ideological party institutes of state. Endless discourses among the circles of artists on this plane, so competent is the new artistic unity as "the soc-realistic method" that obtained the status of state doctrine. In 1936 the Soviet government undertook measures to implement the undisputed total soc-realistic method all the arts in the USSR. Socialist realism becomes the dominant term in the science of Soviet literature and art sciences from the thirties to mark "basic approach" which "requires the artist to introduce the concrete historical truth of reality in its revolutionary development", so the literature had to be created with the task of educating the workers in the spirit of socialism. The notion aesthetic "realism" was related to defining "socialist", brought the practice of literature and arts submission to ideology. Demands of using the socialist realism techniques in fact became an obstacle, an anxiety to halt creativity that for years was avoid against the spiritual life of the people, so the writers created in the majority mediokre works of conformist who became propaganda trumpets. In the late ‘80s realism becomes literary and historical term, but in the embryonic stage of many characteristics, the soc-realism literature is determined as "heroic realism", "monumental", "social", "biased" and as if the category of “folk" is the basic principle of a work of art where the mythical watches in the mirror its other part of the medal.
