FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OCTOBER 8, 2018 COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS PLACE CENTER BRANDON DUBINSKY ON INJURED RESERVE Dubinsky to be sidelined four to six weeks with a strained oblique muscle suffered in practice on Sunday COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center Brandon Dubinsky on Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Dubinsky suffered a strained oblique muscle during practice on Sunday and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Dubinsky, 32, has posted points in each of the Jackets’ first two games this season with a goal and an assist for two points, while winning 68.8 percent in the faceoff circle and averaging 14:27 of ice time per game. In 2017- 18, he collected 6-10-16 and 33 penalty minutes in 62 contests with the club. The Anchorage, Alaska native has recorded 148-278-426 with 869 penalty minutes and a +40 plus/minus rating in 764 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and New York Rangers. He has notched 67-146-213, 412 penalty minutes and a +16 plus/minus rating in 371 career games with the Jackets since being acquired in a trade from the Rangers in 2013. He was New York’s fourth round pick, 60th overall, in the 2004 NHL Draft. The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday, October 9 when they host the Colorado Avalanche.
