From his four-year career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to his two games with the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes, Tordjman has been pursuing his dream of being an NHL goaltender. The hard work is paying off so far for Bakersfield. Tordjman has helped spring the Condors onto their current hot streak, and has helped Bakers- field get back in reach of first place in the Pacific Division. Back-to-back ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors went right along with that. Tordjman has been a consistent face on team that has seen many players come in and out of the lineup. He knows his time in the AHL has helped him reach this level of play. “I think I learned a lot of my four years I’ve had so far as a pro. There are a lot of ups and downs, but you try to build your career off of those individually and as well as a team.” The Condors have been no strangers to those hills and valleys. The team started the year with five different players spending time on the 21-day IR, and numerous lineup changes. “We’ve matured since certain segments of the season. We learned a lot, and it didn’t matter who we had in and out of the lineups.” But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the 25 year old netminder. He was hit with a 6-game league suspension in the middle of November, and had to fight off the rust when he was al- lowed to return to the lineup. “When you come back that first day, it’s all about timing. You have to be patient with it. If you get too frustrated things won’t work out for you,” said Tordj- man. “Those first three games back, I wasn’t at my best but you have to refocus.” A little known fact about Tordjman is his interest in psychology. He mentioned that is might be a possible career path for him once hockey is done. “It is something that I have wanted to study for a while, and I know it takes a lot of time,” he said. “I think school is something that I wasn’t 100 percent focused on during juniors. After my career, it is something I would like to focus on.” Don’t expect to sit down in Dr. Tordjman’s psychology clinic too soon, though. He has as- pirations to get back the NHL, “It’s been a little while since I got the opportunity,” Tordjman stated. “It’s something that you work your entire life for, and I think everyone is in the same boat when we say that we would do anything to get back there. It was a great experience.” And what of his immediate plans? “For now, I’m just going to keep working hard, and I hope to get another shot in the next few years.” CONDORS STATS As of 01/03/11 Name GP G A PTS +/- PIM PPG SHG Pt/G PIMPG 10 Brad Snetsinger (total) LW 31 11 17 28 -1 34 5 2 0.9 1.1 22 Stephane Goulet RW 28 12 12 24 4 20 1 0 0.86 0.71 9 Andrew Ianiero F 30 8 12 20 2 18 0 1 0.67 0.6 15 Adam Naglich C 26 5 14 19 -5 14 2 0 0.73 0.54 11 VyacheslavVyacheslav TrukhnoTrukhno F 17 4 14 18 -1 18 1 0 1061.06 1061.06 7 Jean-Francois David D 23 3 11 14 -2 32 2 0 0.61 1.39 2 Evan Stoflet D 27 2 9 11 10 31 0 0 0.41 1.15 36 Joey Ryan D 23 3 7 10 1 39 1 0 0.43 1.7 20 Rylan Kaip F 17 8 1 9 -2 32 1 0 0.53 1.88 * 18 Michael Gergen (total) F 23 1 8 9 -1 14 0 0 0.39 0.61 32 Pascal Morency RW 12 8 0 8 0 57 2 0 0.67 4.75 * 27 Jean-Marc Beaudoin F 27 3 5 8 -6 6 0 0 0.3 0.22 24 J.D. • 2013 Annual Meeting MINUTES
PHPA Annual Meeting of Player Representatives 2013 Meeting Minutes Tuesday, June 18, 2013 Attendees Executive Committee, Player Representatives, PHPA Staff, PHPA Consultants, and Legal Advisors. Meeting called to order 8:45am. Introductions & Opening Remarks – Larry Landon, PHPA Executive Director Larry welcomed all Player Representatives to Orlando and said that this week’s meetings will be an educational experience as 50% in attendance are first-time attendees. He encouraged Reps to ask questions throughout the week. Hopefully players will leave with a greater understanding of the Association allowing them to educate and assist their teammates. Larry then congratulated the ECHL Kelly Cup and Central Hockey League President’s Cup winners. (At the time, the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs were still in progress) Larry mentioned the special guests who will be in attendance this week and noted the importance of raising concerns to each League’s Commissioner / President during their breakout session, ensuring they are aware of any issues which impact players. Robert’s Rules of Order were briefly reviewed. As required by the Department of Labor and Association’s Auditors, minutes will be taken throughout the meetings. As such, Players were asked to speak one at a time and to state their name when asking questions. Larry explained the role of the Executive Committee where members receive Association financials every 90 days and are actively involved in the decision making process. Executive Committee Meeting Report - Maxime Fortunus, Executive Committee Member Larry introduced Max Fortunus from the Executive Committee to review items discussed during yesterday’s Executive Committee meeting. Max explained that much of the meeting had to do with the uncertainty surrounding the Central Hockey League.
