7 Bedouins Greetings! What a performance! Your Moslah Bedouins could not have put on a better show this year at TSA! If you did not get to see the performance, or you want to share it, CLICK HERE. Please feel free to share this video and to post it to your Facebook page. We will have it on the Moslah Bedouin Facebook Page shortly. There are so many to thank regarding this fantastic year. First, Caliph Gene Kolvig gave the band all the backing any Band Director could have asked for; he even replaced the old Musette cases with high-tech aluminum cases to give the show more flash. Who will ever be able to forget the Bedouin 007 Spy on wheels, Past Caliph (PC) Troy Vincent? And a special thank you goes out to Ill. Sir. Steve Jones for distributing the watered- down martinis. Furthermore, who will ever forget the 2017 edition of the upgraded Bedouin Beggar, Ill. Sir Harold Benefield? He collected over $70 for the Hospitals. Of course, he was dressed in the latest retired spy fashion provided by the excellent marksmanship of PC Jeff Ingram and PC Bill Conn. The Bedouins were pleased to welcome onto the competition floor for the first time Ill. Sir. Phil Trew, Jr. and the 2017 Moslah Divan. (Wasn’t it great to see that PC, Assistant Rabban Moe Rahmeh has not lost his “moves?”) The Bedouin Band was the hit of the 2017 TSA competition. Bandsmen from other Oriental Bands commented that the Musettes were so together they sounded like one horn. That stellar Musette section was composed of Al Kaelin, Past Band Director Kenny Mattoon (PC), Ron Perkins, Sr., PC Richard Luke, and PC Kenny Beck. Ron Perkins, Jr., gave the band a clarion sound; especially when he played the James Bond theme. Recorder Nick Epting and Past Band Director Jerry Wyatt (PC) put on a show that no one could match playing the quads. In the battle of the cymbals, staring Sheik Chris Hendry and Cody Cox, a technical win-win was declared. The tempo was held tight with a solid drum beat by PC Bill Conn, Ill. Sir. Michael Wallach, PC David Dodgen, and PC Jeff Ingram. Rounding out the flash were those unpredictable but always entertaining tambourines played by PC (TASOB First Vice-President) Terry Posey, Laurence Maloney, Paul Davis, and Caliph Gene Kolvig. Last, but far from being least, PC Russ Lowe gave the band a solid foundation by playing an ominous gong while providing comic relief. Your Moslah Bedouin Band stole the show with music and entertainment that had the hall buzzing and asking for more. Congratulations Band! It was a pleasure serving you. The Moslah Bedouins: still the best Moslah has to offer. – Fraternally, Johnnie E. Wallace, Band Director
