Dr Henry Cheng is Chairman and Executive Director of New World Development Company Limited (“NWD”) which was founded in 1970 and listed in Hong Kong in 1972. He holds a number of significant business positions. He is currently Chairman and Executive Director of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited, Chairman and Managing Director of New World China Land Limited, Chairman of NWS Holdings Limited, Chairman and Non‐executive Director of New World Department Store China Limited, Chairman of International Entertainment Corporation and Managing Director of New World Hotels (Holdings) Limited. He is also a director of various other companies including Chow Tai Fook Capital Limited, Chow Tai Fook (Holding) Limited and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited, HKR International Limited, Lifestyle International Holdings Limited, Cheng Yu Tung Family (Holdings) Limited and Cheng Yu Tung Family (Holdings II) Limited.
Dr Cheng also serves as a member of the Advisory Board of The University of Alberta in Canada, a member of the Advisory Committee for the Harvard Asia Center, a member of the John Harvard Fellows and a Standing Committee Member of the Eleventh Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of The People’s Republic of China. He is also an Honorary Court Member of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and an External Court Member of The City University of Hong Kong.
Dr Cheng, aged 65, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and an MBA from The University of Western Ontario, Canada. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from The Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA in May 1996 and an Honorary Doctorate in Law from The University of Western Ontario, Canada in April 1997.
In 2001, Dr Cheng was awarded a Gold Bauhinia Star by the Government of the HKSAR and was decorated with the Legion of Honour by the French Government in 2005.
Promoting Education and Nurturing Talent
In 2007, Dr Cheng joined up with Fields medallist Professor Yau Shing‐tung to found the "New World Mathematics Award" for outstanding mathematics students of Chinese descent. Dr Cheng fully supports The Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation to implement sustainable bridge projects in underprivileged Mainland areas, by donating HK$5 million as seed money in 2007 and taking on the role as Honorary Chairman of its Advisory Council.
Jointly with his alma mater, The University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business, Dr Cheng established The Cheng Yu Tung Management Institute in 1998 to provide quality training to Asian business leaders. He is Chairman of its Advisory Panel of the Asian Management Institute.
Recognising the importance of education infrastructure, Dr Henry Cheng and his father Dr Cheng Yu‐tung donated HK$400 million in 2008 to The University of Hong Kong for the development of its Centennial Campus as well as for academic development in the Faculty of Law.
NWD established the Teaching Hotel Project in The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011, which encompasses NWD’s Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin and a teaching building named Cheng Yu Tung Building.
Establishing Charity Foundation for Benevolent Causes
Dr Cheng established the Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation in 2008 and is now Honorary Chairman of the Foundation. He leads the Foundation in its support of various charitable projects in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Macau, the USA and other territories. Dr Cheng was awarded China Charity Award in 2009 from the Ministry of Civil Affairs, one of the highest honours bestowed by The People’s Republic of China.

鄭家純博士為新世界發展有限公司（「集團」）主席及執行董事。集團於 1970 年成立，並於 1972 年在香港上市。鄭博士現出任多個主要職位。他現為周大福珠寶集團有限公司主席及執行董事， 同時為新世界中國地產有限公司主席兼董事總經理、新創建集團有限公司主席、新世界百貨中 國有限公司主席兼非執行董事、國際娛樂有限公司主席、新世界酒店（集團）有限公司董事總 經理。他同時出任若干公司之董事，包括 Chow Tai Fook Capital Limited、周大福（控股）有限公 司、周大福企業有限公司、香港興業國際集團有限公司、利福國際集團有限公司、Cheng Yu Tung Family (Holdings) Limited 以及 Cheng Yu Tung Family (Holdings II) Limited。
鄭博士為加拿大阿爾伯塔大學顧問委員會委員、美國哈佛大學亞洲中心顧問委員會委員、美國 哈佛大學約翰哈佛院士，以及中華人民共和國第十一屆全國政協常務委員。他同時是香港科技 大學顧問委員會榮譽委員及香港城市大學校外顧問委員會委員。
鄭博士現年 65 歲，持有加拿大西安大略大學文學士及工商管理碩士學位；並於 1996 年 5 月獲 美國 Johnson & Wales 大學頒授名譽工商管理學博士學位，以及於 1997 年 4 月獲加拿大西安大 略大學授予名譽法學博士學位。
2001 年，鄭博士獲香港特別行政區政府頒授金紫荊星章，並於 2005 年獲法國政府頒授「法國 榮譽騎士勳章」。
推動教育發展 培育專業人才
鄭博士與菲爾茲獎得獎者丘成桐教授於 2007 年攜手成立「新世界數學獎」，頒發獎項給予表現 傑出的華裔數學學生。鄭博士致力為內地貧困地區修建橋樑，於 2007 年捐贈港幣 500 萬元作為 啟動「無止橋慈善基金」，同時出任該基金的顧問委員會榮譽主席。
在 1998 年，鄭博士與他的母校—加拿大西安大略大學 Richard Ivey 商學院合作，在香港設立鄭 裕彤工商管理學院，為亞洲商界領袖提供專業培訓。他現為鄭裕彤工商管理學院亞洲顧問委員 會主席。
鄭家純博士及父親鄭裕彤博士深明教育基建的重要，於 2008 年捐款港幣四億元給香港大學，支 持其百周年校園發展計劃以及法律學院的教研工作。 集團在 2011 年與香港中文大學合作發展教學酒店，結合了旗下的香港沙田凱悅酒店以及命名為
鄭裕彤樓的教學大樓。
慈善基金回饋社會
鄭博士在 2008 年成立周大福慈善基金並擔任榮譽主席，帶領基金支持在本港、中國內地、澳門、 美國及其他地方的慈善項目。鄭博士於 2009 年獲中華人民共和國民政部頒發最高規格的慈善獎 項「中華慈善獎」。
