Some 40 drivers entered the category this season. 02:43 And the first race got under way at Motorland in Spain with a mass pile-up… though the wreckage was cleared by the end of lap one. Later, on lap seven a crash between Daniel Cammish (Atech Reid GP) and Hans Villemi (Koiranen Motorsport), saw Villemi’s car flipping over. The rain began to hammer down as the marshals set about clearing the track, with just a few minutes of the race remaining. The subsequent red flag cut short proceedings, leaving Kvyat the season’s first winner ahead of De Vries and Vandoorne. 03:06 In Race 2, Daniil Kvyat (Koiranen Motorsport) never looked back after passing Oscar Tunjo (Tech 1 Racing) on turn two, going on to notch his second victory of the weekend at Motorland Aragon. Just a fantastic side once again and I am very happy. Very happy. Thanks to my team and everybody who supported me.” 05:29 (Championship standings) At the half way point in the championship, Kvyat has a one-point lead over Belgian rivel Stoffel Vandoorne . 05:37 Jingle – Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup “Update” VO: The 2013 version of the Formula Renault 2.0 was revealed in October in Montmelo. It will run next year in the ninth season of the World Series by Renault. 05:51 ITV – François CHAMPOD – Competition Director – Renault Sport Technology (in French) “It’s not really a new car. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault-sport.com 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France 06:23 ITV – Jake Dennis – Fortec Motorsports (In English) “To drive, it feels quite nice. On the brakes, it seems to be a lot better. Obviously with 30% more aero… it certainly makes quite a lot of difference to the high speed cornering as well. It is certainly a step up from the car we had before, and I think Renault have done a superb job with the car.” 06:39 (Images of Car – No Voice Over) 06:42 ITV – Jake Dennis – Fortec Motorsports (In English) “Obviously it is mainly the bodywork which is mainly different, and the flooring… the top is very different – it’s a lot more clean cut, a lot more aerodynamic. The rear and front wings are pretty much similar. It takes a bit of getting used to the tub, because the tub goes upwards as it gets close to different nose cones, so I am sure the seating position will be a lot different from this year to next year, but all in all, it is a fantastic car.” 07:17 ITV – François CHAMPOD – Competition Director – Renault Sport Technology (in French) “We wanted something affordable for the teams… it’s after three years, so we didn’t want to do a whole new car. Allt he mechanical and electronic parts are conserved. It’s the same as today’s car. What changes is the cockpit and the bodywork.” 07:33 VO: Bodywork that has more than one young hopeful dreaming of getting behind the wheel. 07:41 Jingle – Season Review 07:46 VO: The season review continues as we go to Budapest – where Stoffel Vandoorne (Josef Kaufmann Racing) records his third victory of the season, taking advantage of the retirement of Daniil Kvyat (Koiranen Motorsport), to seize control of the championship and move 24 points clear of the Russian.
