Acer genus has 129 species with a number of intra-species Taxa. Acer species are mostly trees or shrubs. These plants cover most of the northern hemisphere, especially the temperate regions of East Asia, the northern part of North America and Europe. Roots, leaves, wood, branches and fruits of these plants have different uses in traditional medicine. In order to study the Erysiphaceae fungi as pathogenic agents in Acer plant genus in Lorestan province, infected specimens of this genus were collected. After identification the specimens, Acer monspessulanum L. was identified. Then, the registration of primary characters and the identification of the fungi that causing the disease were performed. And species of Sawadaea tulasnei (Fuck.) Homma were identified as a pathogen in this forest medicinal plant. This study is the second report of this on this medicinal forest plant in the world.
