CM-Q welcomed a Malaysian student as part of its membership of the global Weducational exchange in medicine and the health professions (GEMx) programme. Faghira Afrina binti Mat Tarmizi, a fi nal year student of the medical education programme at Penang Medical College is the third student to visit WCM-Q as part of the GEMx initiative. The 22-year-old spent four weeks at WCM-Q, working at the primary healthcare centres, and at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Afrina said, “I lived in Doha previously and have attended a summer enrichment programme at WCM-Q. I was interested in taking sports medicine or orthopaedic electives or something that combined the two, and I saw that WCM-Q off ered sports medicine.
