  • STICK MEN - Tony Levin and Pat MasteloO, the Powerhouse Bass and Drums of the Group King Crimson for a Few Decades, Bring That TradiOn to All Their Playing
STICK MEN - Tony Levin and Pat Masteloo, the powerhouse bass and drums of the group King Crimson for a few decades, bring that tradion to all their playing. Levin plays the Chapman Sck, from which the band takes it’s name. Having bass and guitar strings, the Chapman Sck funcons at mes like two instruments. Markus Reuter plays his selfdesigned touch style guitar – again covering much more ground than a guitar or a bass. And Masteloo’s drumming encompasses not just the acousc kit, but a unique electronic setup too, allowing him to add loops, samples, percussion and more. TONY LEVIN - Born in Boston, Tony Levin started out in classical music, playing bass in the Rochester Philharmonic. Then moving into jazz and rock, he has had a notable career, recording and touring with John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Yes, Alice Cooper, Gary Burton, Buddy Rich and many more. He has also released 5 solo CDs and three books. In addion to touring with Sck Men, since more than 30 years is currently a member of King Crimson and Peter Gabriel Band, and jazz bands Levin Brothers and L’Image. His popular website, tonylevin.com, featured one of the web’s first blogs, and has over 4 million visits. PAT MASTELOTTO - Very rarely does a drummer go on to forge the most successful career on the demise of their former hit band. Phil Collins and Dave Grohl have managed it, so too has Pat Masteloo, a self taught drummer from Northern California, who has also been involved with pushing the envelope of electronic drumming.

  • BALONI Presskit French
JOACHIM BADENHORST - clarinets & saxophone (Belgium). Joachim Badenhorst (1981 Antwerpen) is one of the biggest talents of the Belgian jazz scene. Joachim was chosen 'rising star Clarinet of 2013' in the renown Annual Downbeat Critic's Poll (U.S.A.) .Joachim Badenhorst was chosen ‘Clarinet player of 2011` by a group of international jazz critics in the‘4th Annual Intruso Critics Poll’. Joachim is featured on more than 30 recordings. On Belgian labels (De Werf, Igloo, Home Records, Rat- Records, Spocus, El negocito records) and international labels (Songlines-Canada, ILK-Denmark, Fresh Sound New Talent-Spanje, Cleanfeed-Portugal, Nobusiness-Lithuania, Red Toucan-Canada).

  • An Open Source Journal Published Through the Auspices of the Poison Pie Publishing House, Knoxville, Tennessee
An Open Source Journal published through the Auspices of the Poison Pie Publishing House, Knoxville, Tennessee Editor-in-Chief: David J. Keffer† Mission Statement: The purpose of An International Journal of Exploratory Meta-Living is to provide a resource for the dissemination of creative works relevant to the subject of meta-living. The journal welcomes both academic and artistic exercises expressed in any medium capable of being transmitted through the physical mechanisms of the journal. Due consideration also will be given to submissions that do not conform to these mechanisms. The journal explicitly forbids the establishment of a regular publication schedule. Meta-Living: One useful avenue leading toward an understanding of the term meta-living is through analogy, particularly by considering meta-fiction. Wikipedia, the oracle of all contemporary knowledge, defines meta- fiction as “the literary term describing fictional writing that self-consciously and systematically draws attention to its status as an artifact in posing questions about the relationship between fiction and reality, usually using irony and self-reflection.”1 By straight-forward analogy, meta-living is the existential term describing a manner of living that self-consciously and systematically draws attention to its status as an artifact in posing questions about the relationship between existence and reality, using irony and self-reflection among other devices. These other devices include, but are not limited to, scientific inquiry, ontology, various theologisms, sophistry, rhetoric, tomfoolery, transcendental perspectivism and, of course, the omnipresent specter of post-existential relativism. 1https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metafiction, accessed 2014 April 16. Terms of Use: The publisher, the Poison Pie Publishing House, holds the exclusive, global copyright for the contents of the International Journal of Exploratory Meta-Living.

125 YEARS Beethoven to Drake Featuring Daniel Bernard Roumain, composer & violinist TEACHER RESOURCE GUIDE 87TH Annual Young People’s Concert William Boughton, Music Director Thank you for taking the NHSO’s musical journey: Beethoven to Drake Dear teachers, Many of us were so lucky to have such dedicated and passionate music teachers growing up that we decided to “take the plunge” ourselves and go into the field. In a time when we must prove how essential the arts are to a child’s growth, the NHSO is committed to supporting the dedication, passion, and excitement that you give to your students on a daily basis. We look forward to traveling down these roads this season with you and your students, and are excited to present the amazing Daniel Bernard Roumain. As a gifted composer and performer who crosses multiple musical genres, DBR inspires audience members with his unique take on Hip Hop, traditional Haitian music, and Classical music. This concert will take you and your students through the history of music - from the masters of several centuries ago up through today’s popular artists. This resource guide is meant to be a starting point for creation of your own lesson plans that you can tailor directly to the needs of your individual classrooms. The information included in each unit is organized in list form to quickly enable you to pick and choose facts and activities that will benefit your students. Each activity supports one or more of the Core Arts standards and each of the writing activities support at least one of the CCSS E/LA anchor standards for writing.

The discourse begins with a succinct description of the concept of polymediali- ty, which involves two dimensions: the work-immanent compositional dimen- sion and polymediality in the process of staging (Chapter I). Chapter II considers literary sources as a constituent component of music’s polymediality. The first part is preoccupied with the implementation of textual elements and vocality in
