. Radio Break-in Trial Project
– In 2008 VicRoads began investigating technologies that could assist in preventing vehicle crashes at railway level crossings
– A project has been established by VicRoads to trial radio break-in technology at railway level crossings
– Radio break-in systems are used to broadcast warning messages to local vehicles
– This Project will address Recommendation 35 of the Victorian Parliamentary Road Safety Committee Inquiry into Improving Safety at Level Crossings (2009) New Technology
