Ufficio Stampa Concerto in Esclusiva Nazionale Della Ufficio Stampa Concerto in esclusiva nazionale della Ohm Tribute Band dedicato ai Pink Floyd con special guests la corista statunitense Durga McBroom ed il percussionista inglese Gary Wallis, entrambi musicisti-collaboratori della storica band inglese. Domenica 29 marzo, teatro Kennedy, Fasano (Br). ---------------------- Domenica 29 marzo 2015 alle ore 21 il Teatro Kennedy di Fasano (Br) ospiterà in esclusiva nazionale il concerto della Ohm Tribute Band intitolato “Pink Floyd”, che vedrà come special guests la corista statunitense Durga McBroom ed il percussionista inglese Gary Wallis , entrambi musicisti-collaboratori (negli ultimi anni) della storica band inglese. Lo spettacolo (che vede il patrocinio del Comune di Fasano) rappresenterà un lungo viaggio musicale all'interno della discografia dei Pink Floyd che quest'anno festeggiano i 50 anni di attività; non mancheranno in scaletta i classici della loro produzione musicale come Shine On you Crazy Diamond , One Of These Days , Time , Comfortably Numb , Money , The Great Gig In The Sky , Sorrow e altri ancora. L'evento sarà realizzato utilizzando effetti luci e scenografici degni della tradizione 'pinkfloydiana'. Dunque, sul palco del Kennedy (che, per inciso, celebra anch’esso quest’anno i suoi cinquant'anni di attività) ci saranno i pugliesi Ohm , una delle migliori tribute band italiane del settore, e due ospiti di caratura internazionale che hanno collaborato negli ultimi anni con i Pink Floyd, la corista statunitense Durga McBroom che ha cantato anche nel recente album della storica band inglese, The Endless River (primo in classifica in oltre venti nazioni in tutto il mondo), e il percussionista inglese Gary Wallis , che si è esibito nelle ultime tournée dal vivo dei Pink Floyd, oltre ad essere collaboratore di altri artisti di fama internazionale come Style Council, Jean Michel Jarre e Mike & The Mechanics. Il concerto di Fasano costituirà per i due artisti internazionali la prima esibizione assoluta al di fuori dell'attività con i Pink Floyd. L'ultimo concerto che ha visto, infatti, Durga McBroom e Gary Wallis sullo stesso palco assieme alla storica band inglese è stato quello conclusivo del tour The Division Bell, a Londra il 29 ottobre 1994: pertanto, il concerto di Fasano del 29 marzo prossimo, rappresenta un'attrattiva per le migliaia di fan pinkfloydiani dislocati su tutta la Penisola e, peraltro, l'evento sarà seguito con particolare attenzione dai media e dai social nazionali. Prima dello spettacolo, alle ore 19.00, verrà inaugurata all'interno del foyer del Teatro Kennedy di Fasano l'esposizione “ Pink Floyd - Storie e Segreti in Mostra ”, una selezione accurata di alcune rarità assolute provenienti dalla prestigiosa collezione privata dei Lunatics , l’attivissimo club formato da cinque tra i più importanti storici e collezionisti della band inglese, che hanno all'attivo due libri dedicati al gruppo musicale britannico, il best seller “ Pink Floyd - Storie e Segreti ” (ottobre 2012) e il recente “ Il Fiume Infinito – Tutte le Canzoni dei Pink Floyd”, entrambi pubblicati da Giunti Editore (www.thelunatics.it) OHM Responsabile Ufficio Stampa Paola Guarini Piazza Ciaia, 1 – 72015 Fasano (Br) Tel. 0804394226; cel. 333.9579504 e-mail: [email protected] Ufficio Stampa La band nasce verso la fine del 1997, da una idea di Francesco Carrieri, che decide di proiettarsi in questo suo sogno, condizionato e stimolato dall'entusiasmo dei tanti estimatori e appassionati dei Floyd che lo spingono a tuffarsi in questa avventura. Gli OHM propongono brani tratti dagli album di maggior successo dei Pink Floyd. Durante i loro show, suggestionano il pubblico con atmosfere visive e sonore per un viaggio psichedelico. DURGA McBROOM È una cantante e attrice americana; nata in California il 16 ottobre 1962, risiede a Los Angeles. Ha cantato nel brano “Mother Dawn” di Billy Idol nel suo album Cyberpunk (1993) e nella canzone "Don't Wait That Long" di James nell'album Seven (1992). Ha collaborato anche con Nile Rodgers (ex Chic). Nel 1989 realizza il suo progetto solista sotto la sigla Blue Pearl, pubblicando l'album “Naked” dove ha cantato, suonato le tastiere e composto gran parte del materiale. I singoli “Naked in the rain” (terzo in classifica in Inghilterra nel 1990), “Little brother” (posizione numero 30 in Inghilterra) e una cover del brano di Kate Bush, “Running up that hill” sono stati molto apprezzati dal pubblico. Ha partecipato, inoltre, come attrice ai film Flashdance , The Resebud Beach Hotel e Phoenix Point e di recente nel film Sammy-Gate . È entrata nel giro “floydiano” quando, dal 3 al 5 novembre 1987, fu scritturata come corista in occasione di uno spettacolo a Miami, che fu filmato per scopi promozionali. La cantante impressionò favorevolmente i musicisti tanto che da quel momento entrò in pianta stabile nella formazione 'live' dei Pink Floyd, esibendosi con loro fino all'ultimo concerto del Division Bell Tour il 29 ottobre 1994. Ha cantato anche in occasione del loro concerto a Knebworth del 30 giugno 1990 (testimoniato da un doppio cd e da un doppio dvd); la sua voce è inserita anche nei due live ufficiali dei Pink Floyd, Delicate Sound Of Thunder del 1988 e Pulse del 1995 (quest'ultimo pubblicato anche su doppio dvd). Durga McBroom ha inciso in studio con loro gli album The Division Bell (1994) e The Endless River (2014). Con David Gilmour, peraltro, si è esibita in occasione dei suoi concerti solisti tra il 2001 e il 2002, testimoniati dal dvd David Gilmour In Concert . GARY WALLIS Nato a Westminster (Londra) il 10 giugno 1964, è un batterista, percussionista, programmatore di batteria, produttore e direttore musicale. Ha lavorato con numerosi artisti come Nik Kershaw, Pink Floyd, Style Council, 10cc, Il Divo, Westlife, Girls Aloud, Atomic Kitten, Paul Carrack, Dusty Springfield, Bonnie Tyler, Dream Academy, Jimmy Nail, Duran Duran, Mike Rutherford, Mike & The Mechanics, Tom Jones, Jean Michel Jarre. Il 13 luglio 1985 si esibisce al JFK Stadium di Philadelphia in occasione del Live Aid, all'interno della band di David Bowie. Fu notato dal chitarrista dei Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, durante una sua esibizione con Nik Kershaw nel concerto The Secret Policeman's Third Ball del marzo 1987. All'epoca Wallis suonava in una vera e propria gabbia piena di percussioni, montate intorno a lui e che suonava saltando intorno a sé stesso con agilità e precisione. Fu così scritturato per il tour dei Pink Floyd con i quali si esibì in tutti i loro concerti dal 9 settembre 1987 al 29 ottobre 1994 che registrarono la partecipazione di oltre 11 milioni di spettatori. Con i Pink Floyd, Wallis ha registrato in studio, nel 1991, la colonna sonora del documentario “ La Carrera Panamericana ”, pubblicata nel maggio 1992; nel 1993 ha partecipato alle registrazioni di The Division Bell, pubblicato dai Pink Floyd nel marzo dell’anno successivo, mentre nel 1989 partecipava al progetto Blue Pearl della corista Durga McBroom, nel quale suonavano anche David Gilmour e Rick Wright dei Pink Floyd. Nel dicembre 1991 si è esibito all'interno della band di David Gilmour in uno spettacolo televisivo per la BBC che festeggiava i 30 anni di Amnesty International, il tutto testimoniato da un dvd ufficiale. È stato presente come batterista aggiunto dei Floyd nei doppi album Delicate Sound Of Thunder (1988) e Pulse (1995, pubblicato anche su doppio dvd), nonché co-produttore per canzoni di Belinda Carlisle, Paul Carrack, Rod Stewart e Cher, e direttore musicale per Il Divo, Westlife e Tom Jones.     Pink Floyd – Live At Knebworth 1990 (55:45, CD, LP, Digital, Parlophone/Warner, 1990/2021) Es war zu erwarten, dass die einzelnen Elemente des teuren „The Later Years“-Boxsets nach und nach auch als Standalone- Veröffentlichungen eintrudeln würden. Nachdem schon relativ kurz nach der Box die überarbeitete „Delicate Sound Of Thunder“ in den Regalen stand, gibt’s nun mit „Live At Knebworth 1990“ das nächste Liveschnittchen derGilmour - geführten Pink Floyd. Nun waren Pink Floyd bei besagtem Konzert nur einer von vielen Mega-Acts und spielten deshalb auch nur ein knappes Festivalset-Stündchen – wie Dire Straits, Phil Collins (mit Genesis-Gastauftritt), Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Tears For Fears und Status Quo auch. Auf Live-Raritäten oder Experimente muss man hier also verzichten. Neben dem damals noch einigermaßen aktuellen ‚Sorrow‘ gibt’s hier lediglich je zwei Songs von „The Wall“ (‚Run Like Hell‘, ‚Comfortably Numb‘), zwei von „Wish You Were Here“ (‚Shine On…‘ und den Titelsong) sowie unvermeidlicherweise auch zwei von „Dark Side Of The Moon“ – ‚Money‘ und ‚The Great Gig In The Sky‘. Der Grund für die Auswahl des Letzteren dürfte darin zu finden sein, das an diesem Abend mit Clare Torry die Originalsängerin des Stücks mit Floyd auf der Bühne stand. Damit sind wir auch schon bei der Besonderheit dieses Knebworth-Auftritts: die prominenten Gäste. Pink Floyd waren ja nicht unbedingt dafür bekannt, sich Freunde auf die Bühne einzuladen. Da fallen den Meisten wohl nur Billy Corgan 1996 in der Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Frank Zappa 1969 auf einem Festival in Belgien und Douglas Adams 1994 im Earls Court ein, und so ist das Auftauchen gleich dreier Nicht-Bandmitglieder schon ein Grund für Sammler, das vorliegende Album in die Sammlung einzureihen.

Vous lirez ensuite le compte-rendu du concert événement que Laurent Voulzy... euh, Roger Mason... Waters (j'y perd mon latin) a donné à Magny-Cours le 14 juillet 2006. Si nous avons résisté à la tentation de la rétrospective historique, il nous a quand même semblé intéressant de revenir sur quelques albums "oubliés" du Floyd. Puis, l'équipe du Koid’9 a souhaité rendre hommage au travail solo de Syd Barrett (RIP), David Gilmour, Nick Mason et Rick Wright. Personne avant nous, ne vous avez proposé un travail complet sur la carrière solo des membres de Pink Floyd.

    Cluster One Good afternoon. My name is Björgvin Rúnar Leifsson and this is an episode about Pink Floyd. In 1991, Mason, Gilmour, and their agent O'Rourke participated in the Carrera Panamericana racing in Mexico. Mason finished in 6th place along with his assistant, but Gilmour and O'Rourke collided from which Gilmour escaped with a few scars but O'Rourke broke his leg. Mason says in his book that they were lucky not to kill themselves and at the same time praises Wright for not letting himself become distracted by car racing. Instead he kept sailing on his yacht in the Greek Aegean. A year later, a video was released about the race with songs by Pink Floyd under the name "La Carrera Panamericana". There were some older songs primarily from "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" but also new songs, which are found nowhere else and two of them are credited to all three of them. This is the first time Mason and Wright were credited as co-authors since "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here" respectively but as the existence of "La Carrera" is not common knowledge, most people think that the first credit to Wright after "Shine on" is on "The Division Bell" and to Mason not until "The Endless River". What was remarkable about these songs was that they were largely composed in a similar way to Pink Floyd's work in the early seventies and set the tone for "The Division Bell". Instead of bringing in demoes or ready-made songs they met with some of the musicians from the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" concerts, such as Gary Wallis, Guy Pratt and Jon Carin.

    Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
