September 2019 Page 4 Wisconsin 4-H Fall Forum REGISTRATION is OPEN SEPTEMBER 5 to 29, 2019 Youth and Adult Leader Conference 2019 November 1-3, 2019 Green Lake Conference Center, Green Lake, WI

Fall Forum is an opportunity for youth and adult leaders to attend the statewide training weekend with county and state staff. Planned by a team of youth and adult volunteers from the Wisconsin 4-H Leaders Council with the support of coun- ty and state staff; we hope you will promote to youth and adult leaders in your county!

Over 400 youth adults and staff attended Fall Forum this past November 2018. There has been a great deal of feedback from participants and staff.

For those of you not familiar with Fall Forum: Fall Forum is an opportunity for youth and adult leaders to attend the statewide training weekend with county and state staff. Planned by a team of youth and adult volunteers from the Wisconsin Leadership Council with the support of county and state staff; we hope you will promote to youth and adult leaders in your county!

The purpose of Fall Forum: Inspire youth and adults to try on new ideas in their communities Provide an educational opportunity for youth and adult volunteers Develop youth and adult partnerships Create an engaging and welcoming environment to facilitate discussion between counties and regions Provide an opportunity for youth and adult volunteers to be involved in the planning and evaluation of statewide programs Encourage diversity of thought, perspective, interests, and people Promote strategies for youth and adults to reach under served and underrepresented groups

THE COST FOR CLARK COUNTY YOUTH AND ADULT LEADERS FREE

Need at least 15 participants signed up to arrange a bus for pick up in various locations in Clark County and then travel down to Green Lake on Friday and back on Sunday!

Because of your hard work in the food stand, is why we are able to offer this opportunity to all 4-H’ers the age of 12 and older in Clark County.

___ Leadership Washington Focus for youth in grades 6th -8th as of 10/1/2019 (Ages 11 to 14) July 26—31, 2020 / cost is approximately $1200 Travel by bus to Washington, DC and stay at the National 4-H Center Travel time is Friday to the following Saturday.

___ Wisconsin 4-H Youth Conference for youth in grades 8 and above (age 12 & up) as of 10/1/2019 June 22—25, 2020 / cost is approximately $300 Travel by bus to Madison, WI

___ 4-H American Spirit East Experience for youth grades 9th – 10th as of 10/1/2019 (Age 14 to 16 year of program) 3 Options June 5—14, 2020 OR June 10—18, 2020 OR July 3—12, 2020 / cost is approximately $1,400 Travel by bus to and through Indiana/Ohio//New York/Canada

___ Citizenship Washington Focus for youth in grades 10th-12th as of 10/1/2019 (15 to 18, minimum age during program 15). Two Options June 13—21, 2020 OR July 4—12, 2020 / cost is approximately $1,400 Travel by bus to Washington, DC and stay at the National 4-H Center Travel time is Friday to the following Saturday.

___ National 4-H Conference for youth in grades 10th–12th as of 10/1/2019 (minimum age of 15/max age of 18 as of 1/1/2020) March 28—April 2, 2020 a state application will be required / cost is approximately $1,300 Fly to Washington, DC and stay at the National 4-H Center Note: Each participant selects an issue (e.g. education, promotion, environment, etc.) and works with other youth from across the country to develop plans to help direct future 4-H programming.

____ National 4-H Congress for youth in grades 10th – 12th as of 10/1/2019 (Max age of 18 as of 1/1/2020) November 27—December 1, 2020 / cost is approximately $1200 Fly to Atlanta, Georgia Note: Delegates participate in self-development seminars, tours, and a service project, while exchanging ideas with youth from across the country.

A COMPLETE APPLICATION INCLUDES: ___ 2019 Record Book Turned in by September 15 ___ Application Form (check the trips interested in) ___ Resume (follow template directions) submit only 1 resume ___ 1 page typed essay (3 paragraphs) for each trip of interest ___ Recommendation from General Leader (if general leader is your parent/guardian another leader in your club can submit the recommendation) - if you have interviewed previously for a trip the recommendation letter is not required

September 25 / 6:30 p.m.  Hunter Walter gave a speech on Length of Wings on Airplanes. Loyal City Hall  Aaron Feit gave a speech on Trapping Animals.  Carson Feit gave a speech on His Gun.  Next meeting there will be an election of officers. See Janell Walters for an application if interested. RABBIT & BEEF COMMITTEE MEETINGS  A check was given by Dan Rowe & Family in memory of Fern Rowe, who was a leader for many years. A winter sleigh ride is being planned. Remaining balance will be paid September 25 / 7:00 p.m. from club treasure.  Cloverbud Report - Tracy Jakobi made a picture CD for every Cloverbud. Loyal City Hall  Explorers Report - Sarah talked about the Explorers’ exhibited fair projects.  4-H Softball Results announced.  Raffle baskets make just over $4,000.00 and Lyndsey Naedler (former Romadka 4-H LIVESTOCK COMMITTEE MEETING member) wone a basket.  Romadka won $35.00 on Herdsmanship for different species.
