4 2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

17 Sport Clubs qualified for post-season , with 4 Sport Clubs reaching post-season or national competitions for the first time in program history (Men & Women’s Basketball, Dance Team, and Fencing).

Women’s Ice Hockey were back-to-back DVCHA D2 champions with a 22-0-1 record. The team qualified four ACHA All-Stars, two which were top 10 in Division II scoring.

Cheerleading finished 4th out of 16 teams at UCA Nationals in the Division III Grouping.

Men’s Ice Hockey (D2) finished the season with a 22-5-1 record. They ranked third in the MACH League and fifth in the ACHA Southeast Regional.

Men’s Basketball had two teams qualify for playoffs, both with an 11-5 record.

Women’s Basketball ranked 2nd in the Mid-Atlantic Conference, qualified for playoffs and completed a total of 7 campus involvement events.

Ballroom Dance finished 5th out of 13 colleges at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, OH

The Ballroom Club aims to teach the dance styles and also the beauty of the performing arts. They teach Ballroom, Rhythm, and Latin dancing. The club is taught by Rowan students but sometimes they have guest teachers as well! The club is both competitive and recreational. Prior experience is not needed to join the club, and they welcome students of all levels. Ballroom Dance Club does offer spots in regional and national competitions.

Rowan's Fencing Club is an organization that welcomes fencers of all skill levels and competes as a part of the USACFA, NIWFA, and MACFA collegiate conferences. The club offers instruction for all three weapons: , épée, and with two experienced coaches in the sport. Neither equipment nor prior knowledge about fencing is needed to join. Expect a sport in which physicality and strategy work hand in hand, where any body type can compete without an issue, and people from all backgrounds can learn and grow from this great sport.

The Karate & Self Defense Club is focused on a wide range of martial arts. It is open to all Rowan students with an interest in the martial arts and self defense, regardless of any experience or background. Whether you have trained for most of your life or have never trained at all, all are welcome to join. The Rowan Men’s Lacrosse Team competes in the National Collegiate Lacrosse League. They play all year round, with NCLL league games in the Spring. Men’s Lacrosse has finished the previous four Spring seasons with a winning record. The team hosts their annual Lax for Donnie Tournament at the end of March which typically contains a field of 8-10 teams from the region.

As a recreational and instructional club, the Parkour Club emphasizes a training discipline that was developed out of military obstacle course training. Rowan University Rock Climbing Club introduces newcomers to rock climbing by teaching basic technique, belay instruction, and the different forms of climbing. Experienced members will better their climbing expertise by building new strength and preparing for climbing competitions. The club practices at the Gravity Vault in Voorhees, NJ and they compete in USA Climbing competitions.

Founded in 2006, the Men’s Rugby Club has had incredible success in a short period of time. They have been Division 2 Mid-Atlantic Conference Champions three times and were ranked as high as #5 nationally in 2016. The program now competes in the USA Rugby DI-AA, with an A&B squad for 15’s and spring squad for Sevens in the Spring. Established in 2013, the women's rugby club competes in the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference. In 2018, they finished in the top 32 nationally for Division II women’s rugby. The program has a 15’s season in the Fall, followed by Sevens in the Spring.

The Skateboarding Club has their home base at the outdoor basketball courts here at Rowan. The club serves as an established network between those whose lives are tied to skateboarding in various ways. Photography and filming of skateboarding are examples of extraneous art forms that are welcomed by this club. Skateboarding Club is open to anyone who has the slightest interest in picking up a skateboard, as well as anyone who is interested in the art forms attached to skateboarding culture. The Rowan's Ski and Snowboard Club is a group of skiers and snowboarders that travel to Blue Mountain to slide down the slopes. Each season, the club does five bus trips a year. All skill levels are welcomed!

In the Fall of 2018, Women’s Soccer Club made it all the way to the Regional tournament in the Philadelphia division of NIRSA Region 1. The team holds bonding events that foster great communication skills on and off the field. If you played varsity soccer in high school and are looking for a similar experience in college, this is the team for you!

In Spring 2020, they qualified 6 members to Nationals in Las Vegas, however, the event was cancelled mid-way through competition.

The goal of the Rowan Unified Sports club is to promote friendship and inclusion through sports while still keeping a competitive atmosphere. But it’s not just playing! They provide a variety of other ways to participate and share in our cause. They hope and strive to promote equality and inclusion in all aspects of our club. Unified is a fun way to get involved at Rowan, meet new friends, and find a meaningful experience from participation.
