1 In choosing Benilde, INNER you must rethink your criteria.

2 3 FIND A DIFFERENT ANGLE

4 5 Your uniqueness reflects our way of teaching.

Benilde believes that each student is endowed by the Creator with talents and gifts, which the College nurtures in accordance with the individual’s learning style.

6 7 The College continues the mission started by St. John Baptist de La Salle and St. Benilde Romançon by making innovative education accessible to the poor and to diversely- gifted learners.

8 CORE 9 In his time, St. La Salle created a community of Christian schools throughout France.

But what he’s actually done is transform the structure and system of education across four centuries all over the world, a legacy for which he was proclaimed Patron Saint of Teachers.

10 FOUNDER 11 Achievement is not about who you are nor where you came from.

In Benilde, it is about achieving extraordinary feats in your everyday tasks.

St. Benilde Romançon grew up in the plains of Thuret, France as an ordinary farm boy. He taught people of all ages and from all walks of life. But most of all he loved teaching children— a love that kept him in the classroom for 40 years. Pope Pius XI described St. Benilde’s influence saying, “Sanctity does not consist in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.”

12 CODE 13 Benilde’s innovation is fueled by the diversity of our students.

What our learners taught us is that traditional education is not for everyone.

Benilde traces its origin to the Career Development Program (CDP) of . Under the leadership of Br. FSC, the CDP night school for working students was opened in 1988. Over the years, Benilde has established itself at the forefront of innovative educational institutions, serving students with diverse backgrounds and talents.

14 EVOLUTION 15 “It is in the DNA of Benilde to think outside the box. In the sphere of relevant and creative educational programs, our role is to write what is yet to be written.

The purpose of Benildean-Lasallian education is to build a just and humane society. We want to provide the best and most advanced education possible, one that is cutting-edge and trailblazing.”

Br. Dennis Magbanua FSC President

16 INNOVATION 17 Three hundred years since St. La Salle taught his first student in France, his philosophy of education now extends far beyond his first classroom.

Today, the La Salle Worldwide Network spans 1,500 institutions in 82 countries. This global Lasallian family, unified by a commitment to the Lasallian Mission, nurtures a connection that transcends gender, culture, age, and class.

As a security precaution, 142 security professionals employed by the Center for Emergency Management, Safety and Security (CEMSS) monitor College activities and patrol campus facilities. For safety awareness and to mitigate risks in crisis situations, CEMSS conducts earthquake and fire drills and implements disaster contingency protocols.

230 231 Benilde, a member of Task Force Safe School, works with De La Salle University, 232 St. Scholastica’s College, and the Western Police District to safeguard the vicinity of the three schools. 233 Our team of doctors and nurses is on call for any emergency situation and engages Benildeans by conducting health awareness seminars and information drives on illness prevention and first aid response.

234 235 Students can avail of free health consultations and over-the-counter medicines 236 at any of the three clinics in Benilde. 237 Learning is as much an internal transformation as it is an intellectual pursuit.

Students undergo different consultations and seminars initiated by the Center for Counseling Services (CCS) to improve time and stress management skills, develop effective study habits, enhance self-awareness, and strengthen decision-making capabilities.

Through prayer sessions, spiritual counseling, retreats, and recollections organized by the Center for Lasallian Ministry (CLM), students grow in their own faith and gain a deeper understanding of the beliefs of others.

238 239 Benilde welcomes students from all religious traditions and encourages interfaith dialogue 240 and interaction through prayer, worship, and meditation. 241 Benildean learners thrive in an academic setting where facilities and equipment are constantly upgraded while grounds and buildings are regularly maintained.

Round-the-clock assistance of over a hundred housekeeping personnel ensures that sanitary conditions of campus infrastructure are at par with international health and safety standards. A host of support services including construction improvements and property preventive maintenance is carried out by the General Administrative Services Department (GASD).

254 255 Your stay in Benilde can be more meaningful and memorable through volunteering activities, student organizations, and cultural celebrations.

Such opportunities shape Benildeans’ understanding of themselves and the world that extends beyond the classroom. The Department of Student Life (DSL) works with the College’s various units to hone students who are deeply rooted in faith, appreciative of individual worth, nationalistic, creative, professionally competent, and socially responsible.

256 257 258 259 Social responsibility is the mark of a true Benildean-Lasallian.

Students are constantly given opportunities to lead, serve, and grow through community immersions, leadership trainings, relief drive operations, and volunteering efforts organized by the Center for Social Action (CSA).

A clenched fist represents the letter A in Filipino Sign Language. 260 261 For Benildeans, A stands for animo, alumni, and alma mater. Benildean education enriches not only the mind but the heart and soul, too.

The Academic Extension Program (AEP) supports values formation and character development of Benildean learners. Students take a proactive stance in civic and public affairs and engage in activities that contribute to the betterment of the lives of our fellow citizens.

Students also develop career navigation skills and techniques, get assistance in finding internship and job opportunities, and benefit from the College’s network of industry partners and affiliate organizations through programs and projects of the Career and Placement Office (CPO).
