VOLUME & TONE TO RELEASE TWO NEW CLEBRITY ENDORSED STRAPS
Volume & Tone is proud to announce two new additions to our family of signature guitar straps launching at this years SUMMER NAMM show, in Nashville Tennessee, July 11-13th, 2013; “The Chrome” and “The Ramone”. Created in collaboration with two of punks’ greatest originators, these fine cuts of leather reflect the essence and roots of the genres tough yet polished beginnings.
“ The Chrome”, named after CBGB’s own Dead Boys lead guitarist, Cheetah Chrome, closely reflects Cheetah’s original style of truly original, in your face – fist in the air – heart in your throat style of guitar playing. Like Punk Rock n’ Roll itself, Cheetah’s playing and these straps are finely crafted definitions of pure energy and presence. Hand crafted from artisanal vegetable tanned bovine leather, you can feel the voltage of electricity, and the music’s fury on your shoulders, pulsating through your whole body, never mind the smell of an sea of leather jackets in the crowd. Cheetah has been recognized as one of the greats, with additional endorsements with Gibson and Peavey Guitars. His memoir, “Cheetah Chrome: A Dead Boy's Tale: From the Front Lines of Punk Rock”, has cemented his importance in the punk annals of history. “The Chrome” brings back the feeling of those two opening chords of the band’s number one song, “Sonic Reducer”. “The Ramone”, created in collaboration with fan favorite, Richie Ramone, utilizes the bands iconic image and zips it into place. Made to feel and look like the Schott Perfecto, America’s finest and most symbolic leather motorcycle jacket. The Ramones chose wisely in their punk uniforms, which went on to change both music and fashion history. Outsiders and lone wolves like Marlon Brando and Steve McQueen wore early versions, and now Volume & Tone brings that iconic history to your shoulders and the stature of your guitar. Like “The Chrome”, electricity will jolt through your veins, and you too will feel that sense of unbridled power and revolution that not only earned the Ramones a permanent place in The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, but also in the hearts of millions. “The Ramone” strap has the look and feel of a truly D.I.Y ethic that followed the band to the top. In conjunction with the launch of these new Celebrity straps, Cheetah Chrome will be appearing at our booth at the SUMMER NAMM show on Friday, July 12th, 2013 from 2-4 pm. Cheetah will be signing autographs and jamming with our own George Tabb! This should prove to be an amazing event!
Earlier this year Volume & Tone began the celebrity strap series with the launch of “The Magnum”, in collaboration with punk rock great Jeff Magnum, also of the Dead Boys. “The Chrome” and “The Ramone” and a welcome addition to our Celebrity strap series.
