Issue No. 18 Friday 31st January 2014 The Principal’s Update We have reached the end of January and another busy week at Howell’s. Due to demand we gave prospective students another opportunity to take our Year 7 Entrance Examination yesterday. We were delighted to welcome more Year 6 students and hope they enjoyed their time at Howell’s.

Our next whole school Open Afternoon, including the College and Nursery, is taking place on Wednesday next week from 1.30pm – 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join us, so do pass the information to anyone you think might be interested in visiting Howell’s.

This year the Rotary Youth Speaks Competitions took place in the Great Hall on 21st and 23rd January. Congratulations to Abigail C for being selected as best speaker in the Senior Youth Speaks Competition. Click here to find out more information about the competition.

Barclay’s Bank is offering an innovative development programme that will help students not only gain paid work, but also an insight into a major global business while studying for a sponsored degree. It will enable students to fast-track themselves into a leadership role. The programme has been developed in partnership with the Lord Ashcroft International Business School at Anglia Ruskin University and Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University. The Boys' Rugby Team managed to complete the double on Wednesday 29th January against local rivals Cantonian High School by registering a 17 - 5 away win to go with the home win earlier in the season. Click here for more details.
