One of Dynamo Kyiv's most famous former players, , returns to the Ukrainian capital with his Ferencváros side looking to pip his old club to a place in the UEFA Europa League. • With Barcelona and Juventus proving formidable opposition in Group G, both Dynamo and Ferencváros have picked up a single point to date. That came in an eventful 2-2 draw between the sides in Hungary, meaning Ferencváros either need to win in Kyiv, or draw 3-3 or higher, to take third place ahead of their Ukrainian opponents. • Rebrov enjoyed considerable success as a Dynamo player and coach, although it looked as if his Matchday 2 reunion would be a losing one as goals from Viktor Tsygankov (28 pen) and (41) gave his former club a 2-0 half-time lead in Budapest. Tokmac Nguen revived Ferencváros hopes a minute before the hour, however, paving the way for Franck Boli to snatch a point in the 90th minute. Previous meetings • The 1975 European Cup Winners' Cup final at St. Jakob-Park in Basel was the sides' only previous fixture before this season. 's Dynamo ran out comfortable winners to claim their first European trophy, Volodymyr Onyshchenko scoring twice in the first half and Oleh Blokhin sealing their triumph with a third midway through the second period. Form guide Dynamo • After losing 2-0 at home to Juventus on Matchday 1, the Kyiv club followed the draw at Ferencváros with away (1-2) and home (0-4) defeats by Barcelona before a 3-0 loss at Juve last time out. • Dynamo finished as Ukrainian runners-up behind Shakhtar for the fourth season running in 2019/20, although they did claim a 21st domestic cup, defeating Vorskla 8-7 on penalties in the final after a 1-1 draw. • In Europe, Bilo-Syni lost to Club Brugge 4-3 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round before moving into the UEFA Europa League group stage, where they were eliminated after finishing third in their section behind Malmö and Copenhagen. • Dynamo kicked off their 2020/21 European campaign with a 2-0 home win against AZ Alkmaar in their one-off third qualifying round tie.
