MN 55455 (612) 625-4090 Fax 625-0359 For Immediate Release November 28, 1995 THREE ASSIST ANT FOOTBALL COACHES TO BE REPLACED University of Minnesota Head Football Coach Jim Wacker announced today that the contracts of defensive coordinator Marc Dove, linebackers coach Scott Brown and defensive backs coach Chip Garber will be terminated. A search to replace the three coaches will begin immediately. The Golden Gopher defense finished last in the Big Ten this season in ooth total defense (443 yards per game) and scoring defense (33.5 points per game). In '94, the Golden Gophers were ranked ninth in the league in total defense (403.6) and lOth in scoring defense (31.6). "Obviously, we've struggled on the defensive side of the ball the past few seasons," Wacker said. "All three coaches are outstanding human beings for whom I have the utmost respect. I will do anything I can to help them further their careers. At this point, however, it is obvious that a change and a fresh start are necessary." Senior defenseman Ryan Trebil, younger brother of current Golden Gopher senior co­ captain Dan Trebil, has indicated he intends to play for the Maroon and Gold next season. Trebil, from Bloomington, Minn., (Jefferson High School), joins fellow prep teammate Ben Clymer in signing during the early committment period, which officially ended today. Trebil helped lead the Jaguars to the Class AA state tournament consolation title last season and a 24-2-2 overall record. The signing gives the Golden Gophers six early signees. Haskins' jersey was unofficially retired shortly after he graduated from Taylor County High School after he the team to the state tournament and garnered high school All-America honors. Two-time All-American Billy Pierce (Minneapolis, Minn.) improved his record to 13-1 as he led the way for Minnesota, scoring five team points with a technical fall against Missouri's Thomas Patterson. Minnesota is now 1-0 in dual meets, while Missouri drops to 0-1. Three Minnesota grapplers scored major decisions, as freshmen Chad Kraft (9-2, Lakefield, Minn.), Jesse Krebs (9-3, Minot, N.D.) and junior Gerald Carr (8-2, Dublin, Ga.) posted victo­ ries at 150, 158 and 167, respectively. A 16-year coaching veteran at the Division I-A level, Rose, 54, spent the 1995 season as the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at the University of Cincinnati. Under his direction the Bearcats were ranked 19th in the nation in sc.oring defense (17.9 points per game) and 26th in total defense (324.5 yards per game) en route to a '6-5 overall record. In 1994, or one season prior to his arrival in Cincinnati, the Bearcats finished 75th in the country in total defense. This past season, Rose's Cincinnati defense registered an impressive 16-0 shutout of Sugar Bowl­ bound Virginia Tech. The Bearcats also had close losses to Kansas (23-18), who will play in the Aloha Bowl, and Kansas State (23-21), who is set to play in the Holiday Bowl. · Rose spent three seasons (1992-94) as the defensive coordinator at the University of Memphis, where his defensive units were ranked third (1992), 16th (1993) and again third (1994) in the nation in total defense. Prior to his arrival, the Tigers were ranked 61 st in the country in total defense in 1991. He was offered the job as head coach at Memphis following the 1994 season, but elected not to accept the position. From 1983-89, Rose was the head coach at Miami (Ohio) University. After his 1985 team posted an 8- 2-1 overall record, his 1986 squad had an 8-4 mark en route to the Mid-American Conference championship and a berth in the California Bowl. He also served as the defensive coordinator at the school from 1978-82. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Rose was a quarterback/defensive back at Xavier University where he completed an undergraduate degree in German in 1963. He earned his masters in physical education from Xavier in 1965. He launched his coaching career in 1962 at his alma mater as an assistant freshman team coach, before coaching in the high school ranks from 1963 to 1977. Tim and his wife, Joyce, have three children: Craig, basketball coach at Jones Community College in Ellisville, Miss.; Kurt, a graduate assistant football coach at Southern Mississippi; and Christine, a teacher in Hamilton, Ohio. "I feel in my heart that I'm getting the opportunity to work with an excellent coach in Jim Wacker," Rose said. "I respect him so much and that played a big part in my decision to accept the position.

There were approximately three others in attendance. Math Materials Adoption Dr. Joe Backman and members oF the math committee shared information regarding the proposed math adoption. The committee has been working with math material vendors since May oF 2019. The three vendors currently being piloted in some oF the schools are Eureka, Envision, and Ready. All three align with our expectations, rigor, and Vision For Learning. One vendor will be selected in April 2020. Dr. Backman summarized that it is all about the Vision For Learning and helping students to learn deeper in math. He addressed questions from board members. Bond Accountability Report Dr. Shane Farnsworth, Kimberly Bird, and David Stephenson shared the feedback from the 2016 bond accountability presentations throughout the district. Patrons were appreciative of the information and transparency.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [email protected] FREMONT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT-ATHLETE NAMED GATORADE® UTAH BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHICAGO (March 26, 2020) — In its 35th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, today announced Dallin Hall of Fremont High School as its 2019-20 Gatorade Utah Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Hall is the first Gatorade Utah Boys Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Fremont High School. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Hall as Utah’s best high school boys basketball player. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award, Hall joins an elite alumni association of past state boys basketball award winners, including Karl-Anthony Towns (2012-13 & 2013-14, St. Joseph High School, N.J.), Dwight Howard (2003-04, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, Ga.), Chris Bosh (2001-02, Lincoln High School, Texas), Paul Pierce (1994-95, Inglewood High School, Calif.), Chauncey Billups (1993-94 & 1994-95, George Washington High School, Colo.) and Jason Kidd (1991-92, St. Joseph Notre Dame High School, Calif.). The 6-foot-4, 185-pound senior guard led the Silverwolves to a 23-3 record and the Class 6A state championship this past season. Hall averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game. A First Team All-State selection, he is also a three-time Region 1 MVP.
