A mobile business is a business that performs a service in more than one of the participating communities and is mobile, which means they provide services or do business by moving from client to client and the business does not have a storefront or location other than in their home or principal municipality.

PROVISIONS: • A municipal Town of Osoyoos business licence must be obtained either prior to or at the time of application for the Inter- Community Business Licence upgrade. • Proration of ICBL fees shall be reduced pro rata on a monthly basis after July 1st to a minimum of $25. • ICBL Licence term is the same as the Municipal Business Licence term of one year from January 1st to December 31st • Business must comply with all of the Bylaws and Regulations within each of the participating municipalities in which it operates. • Business provides a service by moving from client to client. • Business has a Premise in the Principle Municipality only. • Business is service oriented (ie. focus in on providing labour or an intangible benefit to its clients). • Business sells its service by moving from client to client (ie. does not operate from the same location – fruit stands/trucks, mobile stores, flea markets, carnivals, trade shows). • Business is NOT a social escort or body rub service or a vehicle for hire (taxis, limousines, buses).

RESTRICTIONS & SPECIFIC LICENSING CONDITIONS: * Specific conditions exist in the City of Penticton that mobile businesses must adhere to prior to operating within the City’s municipal boundaries. By default, a ICBL is not valid in the City of Penticton for the following business types until the applicable conditions are fulfilled: • Trade Contractors: Any Person applying for a Trade Business Licence shall provide proof of the mandatory Certification of Qualification or Apprenticeship Agreement along with their Business Licence application • Armoured Car Service, Locksmith, Private Investigators, Security Alarm Service, Security Consultant or Security Patrol: All Persons renewing or applying for Business Licence for Armoured Car Service, Locksmith, Private Investigators, Security Alarm Service, Security Consultant or Security Patrol, and all Employees thereof must be appropriately registered pursuant to the “Private Investigators and Security Agencies Act” under the authority of the Provincial Ministry of Public Safety and the Solicitor General.

* Once the above conditions are met to the satisfaction of the City of Penticton, the restriction will be lifted.
